Thanks for the feedback. Most of the rules for the game were crowd sourced from those actually playing an axis and allies style game. The game was never intended to be a historically accurate representation of the American civil war…as are the axis and allies WW2 games. They are themed games. You are welcome to try it out on Steam tabletop simulator if you have it before casting any kind of judgement. It really is a fun game that challenge players. If you want more historically accurate games, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
Global Gaming Table

I want one but I can barley afford games in general.
Building one would be cheaper than buying one, but this table looks like it could get costly if you really wanted to go deluxe.
-
so far, only $90 in wood and fabric. another $30 on plexiglass. not too bad
-
my friend, who i’m building it with, had a baby 3 days ago, so nothing more has been completed recently. soon, we’ll back to work
-
WOW! Thats a really nice table dude, cant wait to see the completed product!

Where are you supposed to put your beer? I think cup holders are in order.

And a built in Pizza oven and soda dispenser.

i got drink holders on my poker table. WORST idea ever. Unless you want you board submerged in beverage, i dont recommend it
built in Pizza oven
tables not finished yet, but right now we’re looking at attaching it to the bottom, out of sight

Yeah I don’t let anything near my pieces and board, we usually use a TV tray to hold the drinks and snacks so no accidents (and subsequent simpson-esque strangling) occur.

I think that there should always be a Tsunami risk. It’s makes the game more exciting.

Alternate Global Warming scenario? I guess that would mean the Perry Channel would be open again. :-P

Well then I would need to waterproof my board, lol.

i have no updates. been really busy and since Europe doesnt come out till August, i’m in no hurry. i’ve been trying out different stains to see what looks good

Rorschach,
it looks like you have 3D terrain (uneven surface), so are you planning a plexi overlay to play on. Will the tt boarders/names & sz be on the map, or on the overlay? -

Rorschach,
it looks like you have 3D terrain (uneven surface), so are you planning a plexi overlay to play on. Will the tt boarders/names & sz be on the map, or on the overlay?I do have a 3D terrain on there! I am planning a glass overlay (I was going to do plexi, but I found a full sheet of glass for free that can be cut to size instead!).
I was originally thinking of putting the borders on the glass/plexi, but I have flip-flopped several times on that issue. The maps highest points will be touching the glass itself, so it won’t be a great distance (the entire thickness from low-point to high-point on the map is only 1/4 inch). And if I put the borders on the glass, that removes the possibility of using it as an all-purpose game table without having a separate piece of glass/plexi as well.
So, I havn’t fully decided yet. I’m going to finish painting the map first. ;)
