Wow! This variant looks really interesting but if I understand correctly, it requires a new map right? If so, is this even possible to play now since the map link provided does not work anymore?? Thanks in advance for any responses to this question.
Hey Regi_Cide,
Very interesting concept. I like the idea of a non-historical land mass to fight over. I once had a strategy game called Tactics II which was a battle that took place on a totally fabricated land mass. I used to have lots of fun with that game.
One small suggestion about your trains idea. Historicalboardgaming.com sells these small acrylic markers for rail lines, rail stations and even rail guns. I think those would be really good in a game like yours.
When you start the game, select “Game Options” on the left side of the menu to find the “Territory Turn Limit” option. I’ve also always played with a house rule of ‘no tech’ because it I feel it introduces too much influence on a few technology roles. I think your strategy is sound, we just play different games :)
As an aside, I do like the technology development that Global Conflict in this forum introduced.
The AI sucks – Derek, you should play by e-mail with others if you don’t already.
Emperor- You’re right- no other version compares in scope once you try it. Again, what I love about it is that it is extremely variable, and there aren’t 14000 posts explaining how to play it the right way.
