Back Button Between Phases

I know this is an old topic, which maybe has been beaten to death. I’m new to online A&A, but I’ve played the board game for years.
It’s quite frustrating to not be able to revert to a prior phase. For example, I strafed Karelia and accidentally captured the territory with a lucky roll. After reviewing the board, I decided to consolidate units in Russia, leaving only an infantry in West Russia; however, I accidentally landed my fighters in West Russia. But I only noticed this after I went to Mobilization Phase.
This is a potentially game ending mistake, and it largely comes from playing on my phone. With a small screen, it’s difficult to see through all the crossing arrows…
Is there a reason the devs won’t allow players to quickly revert to Non-Combat Movement Phase? Couldn’t this be made an optional setting – at least for private, non-ranked games? If no actions are taken in the subsequent phase, why not allow players to go back and fix mistakes?

While it would be absolutely good to have such a feature, we’re past the stage when the game can get substantial code changes. AAO stayed in Early Access between July 2019 and November 2021, and the also kept getting updates until July 2022. There was always a different feature or issue we worked on.
