Thank you!
Error message "Unexpected error occurred" when trying to play game via forum. Prevented play online. But not locally

Last night, I was trying to load a game using the “play by forum” option, but when I hit “play” the following dialog appeared: (cut and paste, I didn’t get a screen shot…)
An unexpected error occurred!
YamlReader$InvalidYamlFormatException: Invalid yaml format: mapping values are not allowed here in reader, line 1, column 2424: … on(){window._cf_chl_opt = {cFPWv: ‘g’,cH: 'tS7zj77Iiusfl3wVjs.Hd … ^ScannerException: mapping values are not allowed here in reader, line 1, column 2424:
… on(){window._cf_chl_opt = {cFPWv: ‘g’,cH: 'tS7zj77Iiusfl3wVjs.Hd … ^There was no option to submit bug report or do anything but hit “ok”. The game would load as a local game. I tried reverting to an earlier turn in the same game, but each time I started the game in “play by forum” mode, it would fail at the same point when trying to “play”.
Those previous games had run without problems, and so I was leaning towards an inconsistency with my game engine and the server.I tried restarting TripleA and loading different games (as mentioned above) with no luck. However, after trying to test some of the troubleshooting suggestions from @Panther and @gamerman01, the game just started working again. I was able to continue with the original game save.
Not sure what happened, but if someone else sees this, then apparently don’t worry, it should resolve in a bit.
I’m using a Linux Ubuntu 22.04 LTS machine
TripleA version 2.6.14778 -
@surfer Very good information, thank you.
As long as we cannot reproduce the issue, we have no chance to dig deeper in. But as it “healed itself” there is nothing to worry about for now.
