Your decision whether to play or not right now does not affect anyone. Not a problem to give dawg a bye, but in the coming weeks we’ll be seeing how many of the other matches are getting done.

I encourage you to keep the door open. Winner between you two plays @amnykon who has a bye.

If dawg gets a bye, then it’s him vs amnykon. Winner of that will be waiting awhile most likely.

That means no need to forfeit your spot any time soon. Let some weeks or a month pass, then see. No one is gaining from your bowing out, not right now anyway.

@Superior has left the tournament completely.

@hiijohnson is making an effort to get back in but says it might be just a bit longer

I’m going to formally request that we modify the tournament in such a way that @superior is removed completely and @hiijohnson @amnykon please let us know if you intend to continue with the tournament or can we drop you and see you next year? Sorry to do this but this is too many folks on the roster but not playing.

I’d appreciate hearing from you in the next 72 hours if possible, thanks! If we don’t hear from them I move that @victoryfirst and @gamerman01 modify the tournament to keep things moving.

Of course, life can change after signing up for an A&A tournament. Nobody can control that. But people should at least have the courtesy to say they cannot play. Ragnell showed how it should be done by giving an early heads-up.

What is extremely frustrating is when players just silently vanish after enrolling, whether here or in league play. That kind of behavior wastes other people’s time and creates unnecessary problems for organizers. In my view, repeat no-shows should seriously be considered for exclusion from next year’s tournament.

For the slots those 2 are in, changing it to a bye doesn’t really cause a problem. What I would call a problem, is someone getting 2 or more byes in a row.

Hey everyone,

If you’d start your tournament games here in the tournament section, play by forum, it would be great because

1. We can see how the games are progressing (or if they’ve even been started)
2. Easy for players to peek in on others’ hot Classic games

We didn’t make it a rule, and I’m not going to apply pressure. So if you’re merrily playing by e-mail or in play boardgames or whatever you’re doing, not a big deal, just report in here when the game’s over.

Would be nice if at a minimum a save file at the end is posted, but also not required.

So for any future tournament game you start, please set it up here in the tournament forum. Lots of benefits, not really drawbacks. 🪖 ✈︎

Here is how you play by forum.

1. Load the game (Classic League), can be downloaded via TripleA
2. Click on Play By Forum
   
3. Enter the fields. Here is the breakdown.
   To: - Your MARTI dice email. (If you don’t have one, you should click on “Register” and register one.
   Cc: - Your opponents dice email (you have to ask your opponent what it is)
   Game Name: - descriptive name of the match (e.g. hiijohnson vs dawg, classic tournament 2026 1st round)
   Forum: axisandallies.org (warning: default is triplea forum, that is not the right one
   Topic ID: first you should create a topic on the site in the “Tournaments” section. Then, look at the link on top. You can see a bunch of numbers. Those are your Topic ID. For example, my game with Gamerman has the following link:

   The ‘42408’ is our topic ID. It’s unique for every topic. Yours will be different.
   Forum Username: your username on this forum, yours is hiijohnson
   Forum Password: the password you use on this server. IMPORTANT: ALWAYS RE-ENTER YOUR PASSWORD WHEN LOADING A SAVE FILE, EVEN WHEN REMEMBER PASSWORD IS SELECTED

Now you have filled in all required fields, the rest is not necessary.

You just need to determine who plays which side and with which bid (if any). If you have chosen a bid, you should go to “Game Options” and enter the bid there. Also, check if the correct optional rules are enabled. Agree to the rule set this before the game starts.

Once everything is ready, you can click on “Play”, and do your turn. At the end of your turn, at the right of the screen you’ll see a window where you can click on “Post Turn Summary”. This will directly post a turn summary along with a save file to your game thread.
