    Shouldn’t my submarines in the Pacific retreat to another sea zone?


  • @VictoryFirst i just rechecked the rule to support the order of operations in TripleA and…

    …you’re right. The order of operations is wrong in TripleA and I guess I forgot that TripleA has an error? It says attacker can retreat before subs withdraw. My opponent and I in our current league game have both used the attacker retreat before the sub withdrawal and I just carried it over into this game.

    The rulebook clearly states sub withdrawal occurs before attacker retreat though (page 19).

    Where do you want to move your subs? I may change NCM moves based on where your subs are now.

    Thanks! Yes I think it is indeed an error from TripleA. The question asking if the submarines remain or retreat should come before the option for the attacker to remain/retreat. Otherwise you can deny the submarines to retreat by withdrawing the attacking units first.

    I would move the US sub to Hawaii Sea Zone and the Russian sub to Midway Sea Zone. If you would like to make changes to your combat moves or purchases as well, that’s no problem for me. Just let me know.

    It’s difficult for me to find anything that worked at all for the axis in this game. Would you like to play another? I’m afraid I was not even aware of what your strategy is/was. Perhaps a new game with (hopefully) different results would be a better test.

    Yep… I totally understand your concession. If the dice don’t work with you then there is not a lot you can do. I actually felt sorry for you at multiple points in the game. Like when I destroyed the transports in Japan Sea Zone, in my playtest I didn’t destroy any transport, and once I did the turn for real, I suddenly destroyed everything. As if that would help you get back in the game…
