Ideas for updating my G40 map

I have two ideas which I think will change strategy for multiple countries and be historically accurate.

1: Azores in SZ 103 (90 would work but too close to West Indies in my opinion).

This feeds into Hitler’s fantasy of bombing US with long range bombers.
It’s also a great naval base for all Europe countries.
And US can long range bomb Europe from there.

2. Diego Garcia in SZ 78. Pretty much all the same high points as Azores but in Pacific.

Azores will be strict neutral like Portugal.

Diego feels like it should be Pro Allied Neutral but UK didn’t take it over until 1942 so strict neutral is best choice.

What do you guys think?

And what additional missing map territories might improve the game?

@dazedwit I’d say those are good additions to the game! However, Diego Garcia was a part of the British colony of Mauritius since the Napoleonic Wars, just economically the island was administered by a private company. Personally I like to move the 1 IPC from Southern Australia to Solomon Islands, as it would be a nod to Guadalcanal and various battles that took place there. Neat ideas though.

@dazedwit Azores is part of Portugal, USA took over the island around 1942, rather seized it. I know strange. But they had no army so it was easy, Like Greenland
