@jim010 Looking forward to adding some IPC chips to my collection in June, and of course for North Africa in August! Great stuff!
Axis and allies commanders
-
@barnee I actually thought Rommel was always his name until then.
-
@FranceNeedsMorePower that’s the one I was watching. I think the renegade website says March of 26.
-
@Darth-Vahl Ooo, way far away for me to pre-order.
-
This looks interesting.
No wonder where they found inspiration to these rules :-)
The Danish Axis & Allies Association will play test and compare these rules with the Original Axis & Allies Commander house rules from the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.
The rules from Renegade/Hasbro/Avalon will be compared with:
- Panzer General (Panzer Army & Tank Army)
- Soviet Commissar (Soviet Army Corps)
- Waffen-SS Commander (Waffen-SS Army)
- Air Fleet Commander (Air Fleet)
- Strategic Bomber Commander (Strategic Bomber Air Fleet)
- Naval Fleet Commander (Naval Task Force)
We will announce our play test & comparison results on this forum at the House Rules section.

Anybody know what Erich Von Manstein’s Expert ability is? “Strategic Genius”?
What about Ettore Bastico’s basic ability “Cautious”? -
@AlphaKappa
same question? -
@bartok they’re shipping early. As soon as I item mine I’ll share it here.
-
@AlphaKappa they’re shipping on 2/12. As soon as I get mine I’ll share it here.
-
@Darth-Vahl Thanks. Too late for this Europe 1940 saturday. Waiting Bastico Basic and Manstein Expert for the Axis.

@Darth-Vahl Does anyone know the dimensions of the cards in Commanders? I would like to get some card sleeves for them. Thanks!
-
@Vital-Signs 3"x4"
-
@Darth-Vahl
thanks. Manstein “Basic” too many 2 re-rolls in 4 turns we play this saturday. No words about "Sea Battle, land battle, use of aircrafts (no including bombing raids, and air battle). Overpowered? -
@bartok there are some naval commanders that. None for air that i recall.
-
“Manstein” works during land and sea attacks, but not during industrial bombing.
Thanks,
Matt Hyra
Lead Designer, CommandersFor me, Manstein Basic, the first banned card. I will try Yamamoto Basic, maybe the next one.
-
@bartok how did you contact him with your question? I have one about one of the Italy commanders.

Explain your question in BGG. What about italians? -
@bartok said in Axis and allies commanders:
What about italians?
well …

I’ll go away now :)

Cautious
Once per game.
immediately after
removing a sea unit as a
casualty, you may place
it in the sea zone that is
adjacent to a territory
with “Italy” in its name
and that extends furthest
to the north, if that
sea zone is friendly. We were playing anniversary. Sea battle off Italy. My buddy takes 2 hits on his battleship. Plays this card. Returns it “immediately” to the battle board. Basically resurrects the battleship. Is this what the card intends?
-
@Darth-Vahl The latter part of the description threw me for a loop, but no he cannot play this move, as the ship isn’t in a friendly seazone (at least, during a battle). Hope this helped!
