    I think you will have to choose your casualties before seeing how many hits back you make. I think the 3 hits scenario is where the decision points come in:

    1 hit - tip BB
    2 hits - tip BB, kill sub
    3 hits - add DD or CA to kills?
    4 hits - DD + CA, or CA + BB?
