@farmboy and I agreed on trying a new way of bidding: We will alternately put an additional Allied unit of any type (according to general bid rules) on the board until one of us prefers to play Allies instead

@pacifiersboard can maybe start this now. I’m wondering if we need to discuss bid units. Is everything fair game or should we limit it to units and not infrastructure

What are the actual mechanics - after you place a piece you can choose Allies, or it goes to the opponent to either pick Allies or place another unit?

trying it out so it might be a work in progress. But right now the plan is that you can only pick allies after your opponent places a bid.

I like the concept. You can get people throwing down some never-bought units, like BBs and CAs as well, so will definitely increase the variety of starting positions!

@Booper yeah. I’ve been wondering about that too

@farmboy it might still default to something close to what we end up. Both players have to be thinking both that they don’t want to give anything to their opponent and they want to a good position if htey end up with allies. I think that might lead to well placed but low cost units (which along with a fig or two makes the most sense in a standard bid game.

I consider it not too late for discussing units limitations, but am also fine with having it all possible
