Does anyone happen to have any red xeno game pieces that they would like to sell?
World at war (Expansion)
-
Thanks,
I have mulling around the website for sometime but failed to scroll down and acutally see the rules. Since the WAW Expansion at the time I bought it actually had 2 rule books, one for the standard and one for the expansion, this looks like it just combines it. I will start looking through the rules now.
I really encourage anyone to look at the rules through the link. The expansion in my opinion, is the best combination out thier in terms of the map, rules, historic play, diplomacy, tactics, and individual national unique units that are realistic but not way to complicated. Although I have just recievied a download from IL’s website. A map from gamedreamers wich looks awesome, but complicated. He has games that use the exact same map as WAW, although I do not know how the rules differ.
Does anyone have a suggestion on where to go to print out a map that is on a computer file that is the quality of a basic AA map?

Just read the rules posted for WAW. It is the expansion and standard rolled into one. Good change. However, there are some updates to the rules made a few rules back posted on the forum, however, those updates which made for better play did not make it into the rules posted on line.
Incidentally Brain Damaged, I could not access that page with the rules through the website itself. Only through your link. It really seems that over the past few years, WAW has gone down hill as evident by there forum being rarely visited or used, and the constant promise over the past 5 years that there WAW 2.0 with all the bells as whistles will come out in just a few months.
I am dissapointed.

You’re right I went to their website and tried to get to the rules I posted and could not do it.

That’s the reason why a rewrite the rules.
I keeped the essential but I add a lot of thing like oilfield, capitals, ports, light bomber, reconnaissance airplane, dive bomber, escort, light and heavy cruiser escort carrier, mine and more.I also change the vichy rule and Japan/USSR situation.
So if you want a copy, It will be pleasure for me to send it. -

I would be interested in a file as well. If anyone has IL’s rules for advanced WW2 I would love to see that as well.

elvism4145@yahoo.comAre you interested in World War II Struggle for Europe and Asia?

under normal circumstances i would die for something like that, however, I am playing WAW with my son a lot and am curretnly working on the perfect set of house rules. I am then going to buy AA Pacific in anticipation of AA Europe so we can try the truly global master piece. If it is a disapointment, then I probabbly would. I like complicated, as long as it makes sense and historical, so its easy to understand.

Eddie and Brain,
I’m working on that….
I don’t forget you…AL.

Rules for World War II The Struggle for Europe and Asia can be found here:

_The Conflict is a global-strategy based game designed around the economic and military conditions of Europe in 1914. Players play in one of two alliances, The Central Powers or The Allied Powers, to defeat their opponents. Players choose among seven nations (Austria-Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Ottoman Empire, and Russia). After selecting a nation, players take turns completing their objectives during each round.
The Conflict has been extensively tested and designed by gamers for gamers. Players will take their turn each round to strengthen their tactical advantages and defend the borders of their nation. Each turn is broken down into Phases. Players must complete each previous phase in order to proceed onward with the rest of their turn. If a player decides to enter into combat with another player, they must, along with their opponent, roll a set number of D12 dice to determine the outcome of each individual battle. The Conflict uniquely deducts a combat penalty from the player with the weakest military strength in a territory. This combat penalty is taken off all of their dice rolls during the individual combat. The combat penalty allows for the strongest opponent to have a real-world advantage over their enemy, if they have a larger military presence in the area. Players can develop multiple (land, naval, and air) strategies to succeed. They can utilize 11 military units with unique capabilities to complete specific goals, upgrade technology, play one of three victory scenarios, as well as try a variety of player preferences.
