From Early 2026 we start play testing the Infantry Army rule.

The Infantry Army rule is similar to a Panzer Army and Tank Army - but includes mainly Infantry units and possibly Artillery units.

The Infantry Army is commanded by an Army General.

More information will follow as we start play testing.

@GigaSmoot Hey, since no one has answered yet, I figured I could leave you some feedback… Although take it with a grain of salt, because I am not that experienced in Global 1940.

First, I really like the idea of simplified National Objectives! It is true that the basic Axis and Allies is already complicated and Global 1940 tops that.

However, I think the NOs favor the Axis too much in Europe. Germany will push the Soviets to Moscow and occupy so many allied-territories that it will drown in IPCs. Russis however wont get any additional income through NOs until Germany has already been pushed out of its territory. I think with your NOs, Germany will snowball pretty hard.

But again, I am not an expert in Global 1940, but that’s my first inpression.

This rule is part of the Axis & Allies Global 1940 2E, House Rules Expansion.

The increased IPC values in the Pacific Theatre (which reflects both strategic importance as well as oil resources - see Topic that describes the Expanded Pacific Theatre) makes this Battlefield crucial for both sides - in order to turn the tide of War to their own favor.

The Increased Ship Building rule helps both sides to perform major offensives and create multiple Naval Task Forces.

Hello Zaibach,

Sorry for the late response. Yes, the UK takes a major Turn 1 hit in the Med from this system. It also prevents the UK from launching a “Taranto Raid” against Italy in Turn 1.

However, this is later counterbalanced by the Allies ability to attack together simultaneously. It is a lot easier for the US and UK forces to unite and launch an attack into N. Africa and the Med in Turn 3 or Turn 4.

We’ve played about 10 games now with the 3-Turn system and have had wins on both Axis and Allied sides.

Another way to get a distinctive taste between Fg and TcB on offence is to give attacking Fg a preemptive strike @1, like it is in 1942.2 SBR.

Fg A1 preemptive / D2 regular
TcB A1 / D1
StB A1 /D0, but A1 is like a 1 AAA @1 vs up to 1 plane without preemptive, up to 1 StB or plane whichever is less.

So you kept a progressive scale from D0, to D2.
And every unit get a chance in dogfight phase, no bystander, except for StB on defense.

I’ve done the seperate boards thing. It was with vanilla, but it worked out nicely. We tried it once with AA50 but after buying three sets (1 for the moderator, 1 for the axis and 1 for the allies) we were not too happy with the results. Then again, after everyone was drunk and high on pepperoni, mistakes started to happen and it spiralled out of control.

I would imagine things like that would be difficult to manage. In one respect I think it’s fair your enemy see some of things you have avaiable. What units are on your airbases, what’s in your harbours that sort of thing. I don’t think enemy should be able to see where my Navy and full armies are that aren’t acvtively engaged somewhere. I don’t think he should get to see where any of my subs are until they’ve attacked something. And after that he should only know their last known location.
Would be very hard to administer, but it would add an interesting mechanic as well.

We said that Fighters could “scout” two territories out, so if you had a fighter on the board, you could see all enemies within two territories. Armies could see all enemies adjacent to them.

They are the same. IN United States they are sold under “old glory” or “command decision” 15 mm

It really comes down to size of order. Skytrex will sell you them with free shipping as long as your order is about $300+
(you may have to ask for the free shipping by email before placing order–-say you want to place an order for $300 bucks and can you get free shipping) The free shipping is not found on the site.

The price per bag of 50 Infantry is about $14-15 range, plus you need the washers to support the base, and a bottle of glue.
