[Pacific 1940] Dutch Island Army
-
During WW2 The Dutch Islands were defended. They actually put up a strong defense so they should have a army. Their pieces would be purple. This would be a mini nation people could play as, the person playing the U.S. would also play as the Dutch.
Dutch Setup
Java - 1 Infantry, 1 Fighter, Naval Base, Air Base
Sumatra - 1 Infantry
Sea Zone 42 - Transport, 1 Submarine, 1 Destroyer
Sea Zone 41 - 1 Submarine

@FranceNeedsMorePower fwiw most people use bright orange to represent the Dutch. Fully agree we need some more Dutch oomph!
-
@vodot The only reason that would not work is because of the Japanese color. My setup is very inaccurate also. If needed I could come up with a full historical setup for them for the year 1939 it would work with charles setup or otrwaz.
-
I’d change JPN to yellow. I know historically the USN called them “Team Orange” or w/e but yellow looks way better imo anyway
-
@barnee The original classic yellow was great, although it was tough to differentiate from the UK at times and has been a BEAR to color-match for 3D printing… just like the current “pumpkin orange”…

@FranceNeedsMorePower game balance and fun choices are always the priority for me, so assuming the setup you choose (Oztea etc.) is well-balanced, then the Dutch setup would also have to include compensatory units for Japan so that they could always choose to just conduct the normal attack and expect to win the normal way— in which case we get to see the Dutch fight a [losing] battle, which was a main objective here— or maybe Japan chooses to do something ahistorical with those units instead, in which case now the Dutch get to hang out for a while looking glamorous, or even perhaps doing something small and useful.

Hi vodot
Nice to see you active and good work on your Anniversary Project :)
Been a while since I looked at Oz’s 1939 but basically he throws a couple dudes on the Pacific Islands so JPN can’t just walk in.
Or that might be his 1941. I forget :) 39 has a dude in Congo as well as some guys in Holland proper.
Anyway, I think he did a good job :)

@vodot Makes sense.
