  • @ManuC23

R18 ncm edit.tsvg forgot to move the AA gun out of Karelia. Fixed in this file.

  • @The_Good_Captain g18-ncm-edit.tsvg A norm is one thing, and a rule or law is another. By norm and long-standing practice, neutral nations in Classic have never been occupied or used in play, regardless of how someone might try to interpret the wording of the rulebook.
Even the official FAQ for Axis & Allies Classic 2nd Edition never mentions neutral territories at all. This shows that they were never intended to be used in play — otherwise, the FAQ would have clarified the rules for them, just like it did for transports, submarines, AA guns, and other mechanics.
Whether this was an error, a house rule, or simply a forum variation, let’s continue the game — I’m enjoying it and it’s serving its purpose as practice for the events you organize.3fb5114f-fc01-430f-89bf-aadc78544ace-image.png

  • @The_Good_Captain Well really, I’m not doing anything by lengthening the game and it has already fulfilled its objective. It was a pleasure to play with you because thanks to your informative and educational work with the players I improved my game a lot, especially Anniversary. Now I have to practice the revised version since I have a tournament game and I haven’t been able to practice because the players don’t play with me, they only play among themselves.GG

  • @The_Good_Captain I could have left 6 more infantry in the Caucasus, and thus forced the withdrawal of your Russian forces to Moscow, but even so the UK troops in Syria, passing to Persia would control the region and although I sacrificed the German tanks in Persia against the English, there would be enough left to cause great casualties against the Japanese army, which would be weakened for the next turns if Russia enters Asia with everything, I made the mistake of manufacturing too many tanks, wasting ICP when I could have had many more infantry and units in general in Asia, I also did not work well the flow of transports from Japan.

  • @ManuC23 I don’t mind going back and replaying this game from the turn prior to the occupation of Afghanistan since I don’t feel that affected the game’s outcome. I feel the allies already had the win and this move simply sped up the inevitable.

I disagree very strongly that it is a norm in classic “not” to use neutrals. This game is famously “broken” due to the strategy of the western allies landing in Spain. It so common it has a name: Spanish Harlem.

I didn’t use Spanish Harlem on purpose because of another axis and allies player: @gamerman01 In the axis and allies classic league it was floated that ONLY spain should be off limits and therefore preserve more of the original flavor of the game.

But I agree with you 1000%. Neutrals should be impassable mostly because of Spanish Harlem, HOWEVER when you understand that air units can capture neutral territories, there is a level of “gaminess” that goes beyond the country of Spain or anything that happened in our game. Imo, its the only angle of this game that the designers missed: making neutrals impassable as an optional rule.

I prefer to play with neutrals being impassable and think any future games between us should use that house rule.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I have played hundreds of classic games in the last few years and YES. Too many tanks too soon and you dont actually need to buy any industrial complexes. Two transports is practically the same price and you can setup a large string of transports to extend your reach to Africa.

Well done my friend. Good Game!

I think that playing solitaire is unhealthy for competitive players.

  • @The_Good_Captain I played a lot with Iron Blitz, and I also played with options allowing neutrals and yes, all the errors you mention are true luckily I realized it little by little and as I told you before the game was very good for me to refresh everything ,thanks bro, I will continue through the forum and I am seeing if I play a game with Lee who is also in the revised tournament and also needs practice although he says that he has more than 100 revised games played and has played tournaments and everything, so I will see if we both play a classic one too.

  • @ManuC23 yes, Lee is a tough opponent for classic. Very good!!
