@barnee Thanks. Turns out one team player was using an ancient version of Triplea engine. We’ll just have to manually adjust for the few land battles that use gas. Most players will build DD’s making first strike less relevant.
Triple A Support 1914 Improved

@Panther According to Yamato he said yes.
-
I will send you a save. If it works, send to him.

-
@barnee Works fine for me, too.
-
Your screenshot seems to indicate that you did not start the game loading @barnee 's savegame, as the name of the savegame would appear under “Loaded Savegame”.
So what did you do?This is how it should look:
-
@barnee @Panther @SuperbattleshipYamato Barnee’s file works for me. So something is wrong with Yamato’s cause his did not work.
-
As I suspected, your opponent is the problem. There is nothing wrong with triplea.
Good Luck
-
For some reason when the error came up the name disappeared. I will record a video of me loading the saved game to prove that this really is a problem.

Transcript:
Hi, this is SuperbattleshipYamato. And I’m here to demonstrate that my problems with TripleA and the map-specifically, and only, the map “World War I 1914 Improved” are real. As you can see here, this is my TripleA game engine 2.7.15133, I think this is the latest pre-release version?
And as you can see here, this is the thread I’ve been working, um, we’ve been working on, you know. And this is barnee’s test file right here.
So I download it. I go to “Saved Game”, “Downloads”, as you can see here, this is the only thing I downloaded today, so I’m 100%, definitely clicking this exact file, the one barnee just sent me. So I press that, “open”, as you can see here, the Savegame is loaded, you know, same name, but then when I press “play”, it just doesn’t work. You know, that error message.
I don’t know why this is, it could be because I’m using Mac, um, I don’t know wha-what computers you guys use. I mean, I-this has never been a problem for me for playing with other people who used Windows before. But I have-um-I haven’t used-I haven’t played with this exact map in the past. This is my first time-this is my first time playing with someone else using this exact map. So, th-so this is probably-this could be just an issue that’s specific to this map when playing with people who don’t use Mac.
I don’t know, because when playing with regular 1914 Improved it definitely works-it definitely works. I’m-I’m-I’m sorry if I ever sounded like I was lying to you, or if I was trying to stir up trouble or I sounded insincere, I never meant any of that. That was never my intention. I never wanted to decieve or mislead anyone in anyway. And I hope this demonstration makes this clear.
Thank you.

There is no video opening for me. But never mind.
I don’t doubt that there is an issue when you use that file/map/whatever, but as long as no one can reproduce that, there is nothing that can be done codewise and nothing that someone can look into.
I have never used Macs (and never will) so I can’t tell what might be problematic with Macs.

@FranceNeedsMorePower
Please upload the savegame file of the latest attempt - when both of you started with the current (2.7.15133) pre-release and a very new game.
I understood that you received a file from SY that didn’t work. I need exactly this file.
Thank you. -
Also @FranceNeedsMorePower and @SuperbattleshipYamato
please try this savegame and report here what happens:_2025-8-4-World-War-I-1914-Improved.tsvg
Thank you.

It took me some time, but it works!
Here’s what I think went wrong:
I first downloaded the 1914 Improved version from here:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/6iqf74g0s1zyktp/world_war_i_1914_balanced.zip/file
Which worked well for me for a while.
When I deleted it, I redownloaded that old version which doesn’t work.
Only after looking back through this thread did I notice that 1914 Improved was available in the “Download Maps” section. I deleted the old map and downloaded the new one from there, and it works now.

@SuperbattleshipYamato said in Triple A Support 1914 Improved:
I first downloaded the 1914 Improved version from here:
This is the most important information of all, that had saved us a lot of time and effort if we had known that before. We cannot guess that you used a (maybe outdated) file from a third party download.
We can try to give support only for TripleA with the latest versions of maps installed from within TripleA itself (or at least from the official triplea-maps Github repos).
However, thank you for pointing that out now - as now we have a good reason for the error messages.
I’m closing this topic as completed now.
