@Avner Still need your email to put into the game to get dice rolls
ok i’ll put it in the allied turn
To all my current opponents, we had a death in the family and I’ll be away from the forum for a while.
@mikawagunichi Sorry to hear of your loss, my condolences friend.
@gamerman01 @barnee I am on 14748 on my laptop and don’t have the bug if I am in a fresh game either on my laptop or desktop. But the bug is persistent with the save in question. I screen recorded in case anyone is curious but seems like it is thankfully a one-off. Good to know it exists though, in case someone else stumbles into this issue in their game.

The bugged save file: Savegame
had this happen with a strafe using a 2.7 version about 3 weeks ago. unsure what version then but went back with current version 2.7+15113 and it happened again. previous version may have been 14971
redid not attacking with subs. still went directly to next round of combat with no option to retreat
Hmm … I just tried with 14962 and it asks to retreat with a Sub attacking as well.
I’ll get latest and test. Oh you already have tested latest. If it broke it might be between 14962 and 14971 then.
I’ll do some more testing.
@666 @ArtofWar1947 @axis-dominion
Thank you for your patience. I am feeling better now and will do my turns asap.
@mikawagunichi
Sorry to read that. Condolences and strength during this hard time.
Well I just tried latest 15130 and I can’t reproduce it.
I’m on linux so maybe it’s a windows issue. Anyway, will ping @Panther and see if he can recreate it.
Panther a few posts above is where the discussion starts. These guys aren’t being given the chance to retreat in Naval battles.
Thanks
I am unable to reproduce. I didn’t ask but I’m guessing they’re on windows. Would you try and reproduce. The latest pre works for me on linux.
yes I am on windows
right on. I guess we should move this to triplea support so we don’t spam out the league but … Idk :)
@Stucifer said in League General Discussion Thread:
With Edit mode enabled for smoother resolution of naval battles with subs involved, it would not prompt for Retreat and just goes immediately to the next round of rolling dice.
This appears to be the culprit here: Edit Mode has never been supposed to be active during gameplay. In the past there have always been warnings about using Edit Mode even during phases. Edit Mode should be activated (and after action deactivated) at the very beginning or at the very end of a phase.
And likely never during conduct combat phase.
FWIW I cannot reproduce the issue either.
issue does not seem to be edit related as I was not in edit mode. also not version related as reproduced in two different versions but with same savegame file. as stucifer said it may be something in the savegame file. may have been seeing this happening for a while in other games but did not really notice as I was attacking to wipe out opponent not strafe

It doesn’t matter whether you try that specific savegame with edit mode on or off or with what TripleA version ever. A savegame contains more or less the complete history of a game. And once an error is introduced into a savegame it is there and stays there. You cannot expect a ‘corrupted’ savegame to be healed by using a different TripleA-version. So yes, the error most likely is inside the savegame file.
And most likely errors within savegames are introduced by
a) using edit mode at a problematic point during the game (see my above statement)
b) using a version of TripleA containing maybe a specific bug
c) players using different (maybe incompatible) versions of TripleA
To get behind a possible game engine error it is important that it is reproducible with a current 2.7 version and a new game started with exactly this current version.
