Hi Mike,
You are correct I’m also one of those with longer life experience, I’m 67. Great to meet someone with that same background. I’m very glad you are taking it upon you to get me started.I’m from Belgium, so our time difference is 9 hours. That’s why your message and mails were not yet answered (it was night over here).
I’ve played quite a few games on the original boardgame 1984 and was glad to very recently discover the forum and TripleA. In the mean time I played a solo WW2 revised and won against the AI at level ‘easy’. I also played an online game with someone and lost. It was a bit of a challenge it as I had to get used to the new map and the new units, while learning to work with the lobby and the interface of WW2 Revised in TripleA. But I think I’m doing fine.
I only started playing a solo game of global 2 days ago. This is a huge difference with the 1984 boardgame version.
I made my first move
I first got a big surprise by the ‘scramble’ ability by the British, but escaped without too much damage.I presume the file I sent you is correct.

@mike64
when trying to open the file, I got a message inviting me to re-install TripleA as there was a newer version. After reinstallation the problem wasn’t solved. Do you have any idea what’s going on? -
when you go to triplea download page do not hit large red box. that would give a 2.5 version. below the box are three links. chose the one with prerelease in it. follow and download the latest 2.7 version. 2.7 will open 2.5 or 2.6 or 2.7 versions. there are 4-5 numbers after any version that are not as important. you can install 2.7 over the 2.5 or have both versions on your computer. to have both select install different directory. you may want to name shortcut 2.7 if doing both. a little fuzzy on shortcut naming.one reason for keeping more than one are to play other people who have 2.5 version. also the PLAY ONLINE area with the lobby and where you play live is 2.5. if you have 2.7 only you will get a download list when you hit the game link in the forum thread. you can then hit OPEN FILE in list and it will launch triplea and game file. if you have more than one version and want to play 2.5 then after the download list shows up ignore it and open your apps list and select the version you want. when on start page you can select LOCAL version for now and later on can move on to sending dice rolls to opponent. hope this helps. was doing from memory so may be a little off

lionel-v-mike-g40-british-2.tsvgA few questions:
- I saw that the Chinese met some national objective and got ext PU’s. What was the objective?
- Battle in sea zone 96: why do the Italians receive a first strike? …shouldn’t the presence of the British destroyer nullify that?
- In that same battle: why can the subs fire a second time in the same round, as they already had a first strike?
