@Ghostglider Yep. No scramble.

I’ve won several Allies games where I lost London, but it is very difficult for the axis to hold Gibraltar as well if it’s a round 3/4 Sealion. They usually haven’t spent enough money on fleet to do both unless all Italy did was take Gibraltar and load it up with a ton of ground units (might be a good strategy to try…)
That means America is coming and it’s angry. You can hold London for a while but obviously this weakens the eastern front which is where a lot more NOs are for both Ger&USSR.
I think Axis strategy of holding it by having a fleet in the Med and a decent ground presence on the Rock is more difficult to deal with as Allies because it still disables a lot of NOs, Italy usually has several turns of high income to build air and fleet, and Germany can focus mostly on planes which helps them push Russia back and at least secure their Leningrad NO (and planes in S Italy and Malta can hit Ukraine, so usually can take that factory as well)
-
ok… make that THREE sea lion games i’m in now, and this time i did a full london buy lmao
-
and STILL got smoked at a score of 71…
-
@axis-dominion If it makes you feel better we’re all learning the hard way against @peirce. Just lost an 85% battle with expected +18 tuv on average attacker wins, for a -52 instead! 😅😂😭

-
ouch that’s painful! yeah my game with him so far is miserable, just this last turn i hit four DDs and ALL four of them hit like wtf kind of luck is that lol
-
@Stucifer @axis-dominion In our game he attacked Stalingrad with the intention of retreating after one round so my Samara stack couldn’t crack back, but rolled +10 hits and accidentally won. Then I outright lost this battle -26 IPCs vs expected +72. He graciously let us do a re-do but it still didn’t matter lol.

That’s incredible. MARTI can be wild sometimes

lol more horror stories from this his victims…
-
should we start a support group?
-
I’m waiting for a G1 scramble decision from him, let’s see if gamer luck overpowers his
-
@mikawagunichi Ah, the ol’ hit and run and accidentally mow down the whole army experience!
-
I’m starting a club, Dice Whiners Anonymous, membership will be exclusive to those with a -75 or higher expected TUV swing. Would you like to know more?
We’ll share spicy memes, AI videos, and occasionally, incorrigible strategies that will inevitably be upset by (probably) slight variations from average dice. And anything over a +1 or -1 from average is to be lamented with wailing and gnashing of teeth 😅😂

i’m gonna say, welcome to the club

@axis-dominion I was looking at your game against Adam and I was surprised you liberated France on round 11, is that because you couldn’t hold Southern France, so you might as well get a little more money from the NO? Just curious. I can’t remember the last time I saw France liberated without trying to hold it.
-
yeah it was just to get some extra cash, i wasn’t able to hold it. i figured either he’d retake s.fra to get money back or leave it blue in which case he denies himself the money as well. was able to cash in on france bonus again, so that’s twice. after i did it, however, i realized it’s kinda a wash as i lose 4 points of territories turning blue.
more importantly, it’s fun :)
-
@Stucifer We do have this, a long running thread I started in 2013
-
one other thing, is it cost him at least 2 extra inf to take it back. very minor in the large scheme of things, but still. cuz who knows if i’ll ever get to actually liberating france for real.

-
I was gonna say, the 4 infantry can be a significant factor. Took out 3 German units? Crazy

Fun is building a French bomber.
-
actually there ended being one other important factor… when i evacuated i had to leave behind the 6 british units, which could’ve easily been smashed to pieces. but because he wanted to keep the territory blue to deny me a future fac, they were spared and i was able to go back for them the next turn.
