• P pHi, I have a question about classic Axis and Allies about the amphibious assault regarding a battleship clears a sea zone so that transports can land in the same turn after the sea battle is completed. Can that battleship be accompanied with planes and submarines to clear the sea zone, or do battleships have to do it without submarine, fighter. And bomber support? In the instructions it seems to only give the example of a battleship doing the attack on the boats. Page 15 and 29. Thank you


  • @Mn-guy Yes, other units can participate in the sea battle. Other than being a prelude to an amphibious assault, it is just like any other sea battle. The rules on page 15 mention only battleships and transports because they are the only units that can participate in the land battle.

    As a side note, attacking air units must, of course, be assigned to either the sea or the land battle, as indicated by where they end their combat movement. They cannot participate in both, even if the amphibious assault is against an island.
