    If there was a US fleet there than yes the US fleet would fight. But the UK fleet is inactive on the US Turn so it is ignored.

    Of course, we don’t think that British naval units would just sit by and let the transport be sunk by the enemy. I’m going with it, but I still think it defies logic, reason, good game mechanics, history, etc. I point these things out so that if there is ever an overhaul of the rules, nonsensical things like this can be fixed. And particularly so in a game that is Axis favored by 50-60 by the best of players.
