What are your favorite WW2 videogames you have played…whether based on fact like Call of Duty, or based on fiction like Wolfenstein?

My favorites

Strategy: Hearts of Iron III by Paradox Plaza
Grand Strategy:  War in the Pacific by Matrixgames
Tactical: John Tiller’s Campaign Series by Matrixgames

First person:  Call of Duty 2,3 and World at War

Fictional:  Return to Castle Wolfenstein Xbox

Hearts of Iron II is better than Hearts of Iron III: more historical and more quick to play. They did a really big mess with HOI3, specially making it 3D, that was not needed and sucked many resources really needed in gameplay, balance and historical accuracy. I heard of Mexico invading Germany in 1939 in HOI3, go figure!  :lol:

I started w. MoH but as soon Cod came out I knew it is way better…The most I miss on Ego Shooter WWII games is streetfights…

I like HoI3 better, except how hard it is to declare war. Makes alt history harder. I haven’t heard of any bizarre things in HoI3 as you have, but in HoI2, I had an Axis of only Germany and Nationalist Spain, who, I might add, began invading Newfoundland once France was finished.

Allied General is okay. The Russian Campaign is very tough.

But nothing beats rolling into the White House with your tank unit that’s been with you since Kutno and Lodz in Panzer General.

Blazing Angeles 3 on the PS3 Tom Clancy’s End War on PSP and PS3 (I know it’s based on a future war, but they had Pearl Harbor in it.)

I don’t really play first person’s that much.

There was also some old game for an old Nintendo or Sega game I can’t remember it was at an obscure friends house

Very true Allied Assault was really good the last level was a bit anti-climactic but the D-Day and operation torch missions were really cool.
