This was Trout and his son, Pizza Emporer, first game using triplea. They have played several games against each other on the real board.

Details to follow

The Reich began with a full Wehrmacht build with the rest of their resources going to the U-boat Arm.

All of France was attacked, as well as the British fleets in 110 and 111. 106 was also attacked by 2 U-boats and Operation “Punishment” got an early start against Yugoslavia.
All of the attacks succeed, except for Yugoslavia, which was by design. The 110 attack was supposed to withdraw after 1 rd of combat to preserve the BB.

Unfortunately for the Kriegsmarine, their 110 Fleet was commanded by a Nazi Fanatic and refused to withdraw. Only complete and Total Victory was acceptable.
The first chance the British Royal Navy got, it was promptly sunk with their idiot commander drowning in the process.
The Kriegsmarine would be without a Battleship for the remainder of the war.

Late 1940 and with UK Air Defenses deployed elsewhere, Goring would begin the Strategic Bombing of London.
With heavy Ftr escort, 2 Bmbrs would evade the Flak and do 9 damage to the London Fctry.

Early 1941 and 1st and 2nd Waffen would form in Berlin with 1st Panzer deploying soon after.
The bombing of London would continue, with the Fctry now sustaining max damage.
The Wehrmacht and the Waffen SS would concentrate in Romainia and Slovakia.

The Soviets, Commanded by Pizza, would immediately begin to add the ideologically driven Commisars to the Order of Battle. The Red Army would start to concentrate in Belarus and W UKR. Far East Forces would begin to move west.

Commisars would continue to deploy through Late 1940 and 1st Corps would form and anchor the units in W UKR facing the brunt of the German Heer.
Belarus would remain heavily defended, with the Red Air Force now stationed there.
Caucasus and Novgorod would have substantial manpower deployed as well.

Nippon would begin construction of a Fctry in Shantung Early 1940 and complete a second one in Kiangsu Late 1940.
The IJA would press Chinese troops hard and by Early 1941, China would only control 3 Western Provinces.
The IJN would build a Harbor in Kwangsi.

Carolines would start to be reinforced via Air Trprt with a strong Fleet positioned there as well.
The new Harbor in Kwangsi would also have a signifigant Naval presence, with Yamamoto keeping the largest Fleet in Home waters.

The USN, Commanded by Trout, would launch their Biggest BB ever in Early 1940. The USS Iowa. Her sistership, USS Missourri would soon follow.
The Philippines would be fortified.
In Early 1941, two more Battleships would deploy, although not of the massive size of the Iowa class, they would strengthen both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets.

The UK, under orders from Pizza, upgrade the S African Fctry to Hvy Ind and begin to plant Landmines along the India/Burma border.
A monster attack by the Royal Navy and Air Force, sink a large part of the Regia Marina, despite a full scramble by Italian and German Air.

Late 1940 and the UK launches a CV loaded with SeaFires. India continues to produce LMs.
Italian units are defeated in Kenya, and the last of their Navy is sunk in 95 SZ

Early 1941 and not to be outdone by the colonists in America, a BB launches into Canadian waters to join the Aircraft Carrier there.
No combat takes place.
A steady stream of Tanks are now flowing out of the S African Fctry.
Egypt faces strong Axis forces in Alexandria.

Edit 2-11-25

Italy would sink the UK ships in 97 and finish off Yugoslavia in Early 1940.
Late 1940 Paratroopers would start to deploy and LCV s would begin coming off the production lines.
Greece would be conquered. N African Forces would concentrate in Alexandria.
Early 1941 No combat would take place. The North African Forces would withdraw from Alexandiria to Tobruk.
Paras and LCVs would stage in Greece and the Med would be free of Allied Ships.

ANZAC pretty much just chills, although Britain would take Custodianship of Celebes. ANZAC would take care of Java though and heavily fortify it.
A Carrier Group would form off New South Wales in Early 41.

Early 1940 and the Free French Fleet in Toulon attacks the Italians in 95. They are soundly defeated.
They just chill for the next year trying to help fortify British positions.

Late 1941 and Germany attacks the Soviet Union. A large Air and amphibous attack, including Paratroopers, strikes Caucasus. The Soviets would fight heroically and despite all defenders being slain, they would maintain control of the vital Territory. Stalin would award the defenders “Hero of the Soviet Union”. Unfortunately for them, posthumously.
The GIB Naval Base is destroyed and the Kriegsmarine sails to 112.
Italian North African units receive minor reinforcements via Air Trprt.

German attacks occur all along the Eastern Front in Early 42. The Wehrmacht concentrates in Novgorod led by Army Group North. U-boats and Luftwaffe units sink the British Med Fleet in 98.

Late 42 sees minor combat in Archangel. AG North withdraws form Novgorod to Poland and reforms as AG Center due to a massive buildup of Soviet Force in Belarus.
North African forces are withdrawn, sans an AA unit. American Naval units enter the Med.
4th Waffen forms in W GER.

In Early 1941 the Soviets were attacked by Italian fascists. Stalin orders the formation of 9 Guard units in Late 1941. A German Fallschirmjager unit in Rostov is destroyed. The Red Army concentrates in Bryansk. Cacusus is reinforced from Volgograd.

Early 1942 and full Conscription takes place. Multiple counterattacks occur, primarily to the South. The main Red Army force has now moved to Belarus.

Late 1942 and the Soviets have suffered a Sneak Attack by Japan during Early 1941, with Central Asia and the Soviet Far East losing large amounts of territory.
The Moscow Fctry is moved underground and Mass Tanks begin to roll off the assembly lines.
Major combat takes place all along the Eastern European Front. Novgorod is liberated, as well as Caucasus, which was taken by Italy six months earlier.
The Far East is using a strategy of trading space for time, with no combat occurring.
1st Tank forms in Moscow in attempt to begin repelling the Japanese invaders.

Japan begins Late 1941 by investing heavily into their Army. China is completely subjugated. The Navy remains in Home waters, as well as continuing it’s large presence in 36 SZ.

In Early 1942, the mighty Yamato would be launched. Major fortification of Caroline Islands would take place.
Tojo would convince both the the Army and a more reluctant Navy, that the time to strike the Soviets was now. Framing it as a preemptive defensive strike, Hirohito would agree.
However, he wasn’t done and using his Powers of persuasion, urged war against the Western Powers as well. His view would prevail. The world was now at war.

Massive attacks in to a lightly defended Soviet Union would all succeed. The Navy’s success would be just as great, with the Philippines, Borneo and Singapore all falling.
Th e Army would also take Hong Kong, Burma and Shan State.

Late 1942 and IJA would again take large swaths of undefended Soviet territory. Including the prized Tank factory, Tankograd.
A heavily escorted Bombing run on India would have disappointing results. One Bmbr would be shot down and the raid would do limited damage.

The IJN would take Celebes, DNG and a minor attack by a DD would take the Northern TTy of Austrailia.
A Fctry would be constructed in FIC and the Army would deploy mechanized units to their mainland China factories.

Late 1941 for the Americans would see them continue to build their Navy, launching two new Battleships. GIB would be liberated.
The Pacific Fleet would remain in Pearl Harbor and they would persuade Brazil to join the Allied cause.

Early 1942 and the US, stunned by the cowardly Japanese sneak attack, would conduct no combat. The Atlantic Fleet would sail to 91 off GIB, while a strong Task Force would enter the Med denying Italy an important Objective.

Late 42 and the Islands of Sicily and Sardina would be taken, with the USN now having a large presence in the Med.
The PHI would be lost and the Pearl Fleet would sail to Queensland.

Late 1941 and Britain continues to launch ships off Nova Scotia. The Army deploys additional units in Africa and India.
They move into Alexandria in force. The Canadian Fleet joins the Americans off Gibralter.

Early 1942 construction begins on a new GIB Harbor. The North African Army continues to drive the Axis Forces west as they take Tobruk.
A CV with 2 Seafires deploy into Canadian waters.

The London Fctry would be moved underground in Late 1942. They would continue the back and forth with the Japanese in Burma. The Italian Army would finally be caught in Libya and soundly defeated.

Italia would conduct a Paratrooper, Amphibous attack against Caucasus in Late 1941, supported by their Bmbr. While the Soviets would put up another Heroic defense, they would be defeated with a single Artillery unit taking control.

After a successful Russian counterattack in Early 1942, the Italians would once again take control of Caucasus with another Amphib attack.
A FlakTower would be constructed in Late 1942 in Rome after the Americans conquest of both Sardinia and Sicily. The African Army would be destroyed in Libya.

ANZAC would conduct no combats in Late 1941. A Battleship would launch from New South Wales.
Early 1942 a CV would join the Fleet making it a fairly formidable force. The lack of attractive targets would prevent any combat.

France would continue to chill, garrisoning numerous TTys in North Africa. Their Ftr squadron would remain in England.

Early 1943 sees the Reich form 1st Waffen Pnzr. Attritional battles take place all across the Eastern Front. Luftwaffe units support all attacks.
Late 43 has heavy fighting in both UKR TTys. Paras take control of Middle East and activate Iraq. Germany takes over Italy.

Early 1944 and Type XXI boats begin to launch. Major combat takes place in Caucasus and the Northern part of the E Front.
The Soviets remain concentrated in Belarus.
Kriegsmarine is in strength in 112 and blocking the Huge Allied Fleet in 91 and 92 with a Escort in 110.

Late 1944 XXI Uboats hit the Allied Fleet in 110 and withdraw to their SubPens in 112.
Stalingrad falls.
Kriegsmarine sails to 113. AG South forms in W GER to combat a potential D-Day attack.

Early 43 has the Soviets mass producing Tanks and commisioning a TG. They would counterattack against JPN to their east and fight the Germans and Italians in the south and west.
Late 43 and mass Tanks continue to roll off the assembly lines. Major counterattacks take place in the northern part of the European Front.

Early 1944 and the Soviets being a dollar short of TotalWarTanks, purchase a single Elite, saving their resources for their next build.
Leningrad would once again see massive combat and a strong Force of Armor and Conscripts would be sent against JPN in Novosibirsk.

Japan would launch the sister ship of Yamato, the Musashi, ( I always forget it’s name lol ) in Early 1943.
They would continue SBR attacks against the India Fctry but the tommies taught their subjects well and the last Bmbr would be shot down.
NG would fall, as well as Guam.

Late 1943, an undefended Aleutians would be conquered, depriving America of a valuable Objective.
A large battle would be fought in Novosibirsk in Early 44.
Overshadowing it would be the collision between the IJN and the USN off DNG.

With help from land based Air assets, the Allied Fleet would be sunk. The IJA would also be successful in Novo, with a strong Armored presence remaining.

Edit 2-21-25

Late 1943 would see the Americans liberate New Guinea and a small landing by their Med Fleet would take a lightly defended N Italy. The Atlantic Fleet would begin to concentrate in 91 with the British off Gibralter.

Uncle Sam would go heavy in Late 43 with new Air assets. Deploying two B-29s and Total War builds of Ftrs and Infantry.
A large Japanese land force would be defeated in DNG, with the supporting Naval Vessels setting up the aforementioned showdown with the IJN in Early 1944.

Air Power would again be emphasized in Early 44, with more B-29s, as well as Naval Ftrs, along with the CVs to support them, coming into play.
The remainder of the Pacific Fleet would sail to Queensland, while the Med and Atlantic Fleets would now both be in 110 with a large number of Trprts that would unload to UK in preperation for a future D-Day attack.
Sadly, for the Allies, that day would never come.

A large number of British Paratroopers would finish their training in Early 43. They would conduct no combat.
Late 1943 and the British would follow the Americans lead and purchase 2 Hvy Bmbrs of their own.
The heaviest fighting of the period would be in Syria, where a strong German Fallschirmjager force had landed.

Some minor combat would take place in Iraq in Early 44. The Royal Navy, Air Force and Army would prepare for the D-Day landings.

Early 1943 and with conditions now met, Italy would prepare for the German Takeover in Late 43.

ANZAC would see no combat during Early 43 to Early 44. In Late 44, with peace talks well underway, they would defeat a small landing in Northern TTy.

Late 1944 would see the final 6 months of the war.
Type XXI U-boats would continue to strike at the Allied Fleets in 110 and withdraw to safety to their SubPens in 112.
From Stalingrad to Persia, the Reich would be in control over the oil rich territories.

The Soviets would make some minor counterattacks on their European Front but Nippon would push to the Gates of Moscow from the east.
All of New Guinea would be taken again and a large Fleet would sail from Home waters to take Midway in force.

The Americans would fight valiantly until the end. Taking Normandy and Holland. Halsey would make a desperate attempt to defeat the IJN off of NG but would be defeated again.

Britain would make a last ditch effort as well, taking S FRA to link up with the earlier American gains.

Alas, in the end, it would be too much. Roosevelt, knowing his strong Navy and two oceans would protect America, successfully sues for peace.
Churchill, on the other hand, would be forcibly removed from office in a vote of no confidence.

Conclusion

Trout and Pizza adapted to triplea quite well. As Trout stated, there is an adjustment period in not being able to see the entire map at once. Unless you’re hooked up to a large screen tv :)

There was also a misunderstanding on their part concerning the Bombard rules. They mistakenly had thought you could conduct a Naval Battle, as well as Bombard in the same Sea Zone.

Hence why they put a lot of resources into Battleships. The large number of BB’s still presented some unique challenges I hadn’t seen before and think that their is still promise for it with some adjustments.

Pizza gave the Reich all it could handle early game, even forcing them back to Poland at the End of 1942. Albeit at the expense of neglecting his eastern defenses.

I think if he would have continued with his strategy and pushed everything to his west, he would definitely had gotten Romainia and had a chance to get loose in the Balkans.

The income swing would have been sizable. Even with a weakly defended Far East, it takes JPN several turns to conquer and hold it.
So, hard to say how it would have played out.

At any rate, a most enjoyable game. Trout and Pizza continue to play via triplea, with games against @Panzerstahl-Helm and @VictoryFirst ongoing.

@Trout you are welcome and encouraged to share your opinions on your first triplea game as well.

This is the only post in the No. 16 Game Report.

Players:

Germany:
From Early 1940, Germany prepared for both the Battle of The Atlantic as well as the invasion of the Soviet Union.
The German Luftwaffe was dispersed over most of Europe in order to support both the Kriegsmarine in the Atlantic and in preparation for the attack on the Soviet Union.
In Late 1941 Germany attacked the Soviets.

Soviet Union:
The Soviets were building up 1st, 2nd and 3rd Soviet Army Corps from Early 1940 to Early 1941.
In Early 1942 the Soviet 1st Tank Army formed the backbone of the Soviet defense on the central part of the Eastern Front.

Japan:
The Imperial Japanese Army eliminated all Chinese resitance by Late 1942.
From then on Japan prepared for an increased production to fight the British troops in India - and to launch several attacks in the Pacific.

United States:
The United States Strategic Plan was “Germany First”.
In Early 1942 US troops launched a massive attack against North Africa.
By Late 1942 US troops had a solid foothold in Western Europe.

United Kingdom:
British forces were fighting desperately against both Japanese, Italian and German units.
In Early 1941, the entire German Luftwaffe launched an attack against the strong Royal Navy in the Mediterranian Ocean - Sea Zone 97.
Since there was no support from the German Kriegsmarine U-Boats, all casualties were taken on the Luftwaffe.
The German Luftwaffe eliminated the Royal Navy - but Luftwaffe casualties were at 75 %.

Early 1943:
The German Army was pushed back by strong Soviet forces on the Eastern Front.
With the Luftwaffe reduced to only 25 % of its original strength, the German Waffen-SS and Panzer Armies were the only strong reserves in the German arsenal.
Slowly the German and Italian forces were pushed out of Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The British forces in India - supported by ANZAC forces - had fortified Sumatra and Java - making them impenetrable to Japanese forces.

UK forces started their offensive against Japanese troops in Burma and China in Late 1942

Strong Soviet forces were marched up by the borders to China - ready to counter attack any Japanese units that did not withdraw in time.

By the beginning of Late 1943, the military situation was hopeless for the Axis.

Axis forces surrendered the the Allies in Late 1943.

This is crockett’s first game of Global 1940 Expansion. He was thrown into the deep end, with all options activated.

While there was some confusion in Early 1940, by Early 1944, he was posting error free. His gaming partners are impressed, as he quickly marches towards veteran staus.

I will try not to make this too long and it will take several postings, but I do want to document crockett’s first game with a fair amount of detail.

Early 1940

The Kriegsmarine would launch the Graf Zeppelin in Early 1940. They would sink the Royal Navy in 110 and 106. A damaged Bismark would withdraw from 111 to 112.

The Wehrmacht would conquer all of France as well as attriting Yugoslavia and then withdrawing to Romainia.

The Soviets would commision all of their Commisars and promote a Elite Infantry. They would save a significant amount of their income.

The Red Army would have a fairly strong presence in E POL, as well as strengthening secondary lines of defense in Bryansk and Belarus.
Novgorod would retain a sizable Infantry presence.

Japan would build a Factory in Shantung as well as deploy 2 Engineers to Tokyo.
The IJN would concentrate in 36 with a CV Group left in 6 SZ.

USA destroys the facilities in the Philippines and buys 2 CVs, 2 DDs.
PHI would be fortified.

China takes Yunnan back and concentrates in Shensi with their Ftr.

UK moves the London Factory underground and blows up the Gibralter Harbor. They sink the Italian ships in 96 and 97.

Italy builds a DD and a LCV. They sink the remaining UK ships in 97. They take Yugoslavia and Tunisia. The Ethiopian Army moves to Somaliland.

ANZAC produces a Submarine and takes control of Java and DNG. Their CA and DD move to the Harbor in New South Wales.

France disperses its Med Fleet to 92 and 94. The Morrocan Inf reinforces Algiers to face off the Italians in Tunis.

Late 1940

Germany would launch another CV and 4 U-boats, with the rest of their income going to the Wehrmacht.

An undefended GIB would be taken and the damaged HMS Hood would be sunk off Iceland by a single U-boat with Bomber support.
Operation Marita would be activated and Greece would fall.

1st Panzer would form in Berlin and the new CV would launch off Toulon along with a Me 109T. The majority of the Kriegsmarine having already sailed to 91 off GIB.

Russia would have a mixed build of 4 Tanks, Elite, Engnr, Para and 2 Bmbrs.

They would begin to implement the “Crockett Karelian Knot” heavily reinforcing Novgorod and Karelia.

While the Axis were originally skeptical of the Soviet strategy, it has proven problematic throughout the game, as the Reich has been unable to fully untie it.

Far East Forces concentrate on the Manchurian frontier.

Nippon would construct another Fctry for mainland China along with a Harbor in Kwangsi.

Undefended TTys bordering Shensi would be taken and a Huge attack by the IJA would take Yunnan in force.
Kweichow would also be occupied by a large number of Army units.

USA launches the USS Iowa and 3 DDs into the Atlantic, as well as fortifying the Aleutians.

China withdraws their entire Army to Kansu save a single Inf in Szechwan.

Britain builds a Fctry for Egypt and heavily reinforces the RAF. Sumatra is fortified.
The Pro-Axis Neutrals in Iraq are exterminated.

Italia builds a Para, LCV and 3 Inf. Algeria is conquered and a large Army force moves to Romainia.

ANZAC builds a CV and a SS. They take Custodianship of Celebes.

France moves their DD in 81 SZ to the Med in 95. They now have a DD in 95, 94 and a CA in 92. The London Ftr flies to French West Africa.

6-24-25
Early 1941
The Reich starts off Early 41 sending the Luftwaffe to sink the French ships in the Med along with U-boat support. Forces from occupied GIB would make a amphibous attack on W Africa and destroy the French Ftr there.

AG Center forms in Slovakia and U-boats continue to raid England and Canada.

The Soviets invest heavily in Infantry and a TG. They continue to concentrate in Karelia and Novgorod. They withdraw from the East European TTys.

Nippon continues their push into China.

USA sees another large Naval build. Both Pacific and Atlantic Fleets are formidable.
China attempts a minor counterattack in Suiyuyan that fails. They hold there last 3 Western Provinces and are concentrated in Kansu.

UK invests heavily in Paratroopers and eliminates the Italian Army in Somalia.

Mussolini in his desire to upstage Hitler, orders an attack on the Soviet Union. They would take an undefended Bessarabia and launch a successful amphibous attack against a lightly defended Caucasus.
North Africa would be taken for an important Objective.

ANZAC goes with a Naval and Air buy. They disperse their ships throughout the SW Pacific.
What’s left of the French Armed Forces chill with the British.

Late 1941
Germany launches Operation Barbarossa. They would take undefended Soviet TTys in the East as well as use Fallschirmjägers to take UKR and Rostov.
A British DD that deployed to 109 would be sunk.

A small force continues to advance in Central Africa and the Kriegsmarine moves into the Med.
AG Center moves to W UKR and E POL has a heavy Wehrmacht and Waffen concentration.

Russia goes with an all Inf build. They will take back Rostov, UKR, Baltic STs and move into Finland. Strategic Bombers will kill the Italian units in Caucasus.

The Red Army’s largest Force is in Novgorod. The Far East Army remains as a counter to JPN.

JPN suffers a major defeat in Kansu. This will delay the takeover of China until Early 1942.
They begin to build a Air Trprt Fleet.

The Americans, now in the War against Germany and Italy, use a Bmbr DD combo to begin to hunt U-boats in the North Atlantic and Brazil is activated.
China waits for the inevitable.

UK successfully counterattacks against the German Central African Force. An undefended Holland is taken by a Paratrooper.
They continue to suffer heavy Convoy damage.

Italia attacks Caucasus and Alexandria killing the British and ANZAC troops there.
They begin to reinforce North Africa via Air Trprt.

ANZAC continues to build it’s Navy and they remained dispersed in single SZs.

Early 1942
The Reich invests heavily in the Wehrmacht with a large Inf build. Rostov is taken with a combined sea and air attack. AG Center joins the E POL forces in Belarus. The Luftwaffe reinforces Norway.

In the USSR Stalin has ordered Conscription to take place. The fighting in Rostov and Caucasus continues. The Red Air Force takes heavy losses while doing no damage in the latter.
The Novgorod Army moves to Karelia.

Despite the failure of JPN to conquer all of China in Late 41, they remain on schedule and Declare War against the Western Allies. They would attack the PHIs, Singapore, Hong Kong, Borneo and finish off the Chinese. All attacks would succeed.

The Americans, enraged by the sneak attack japanese, activate the Natl Guard. In Europe they would bomb the S FRA Fctry as well as take an undefended GIB back for the British. In the Pacific they would sink a Escort blocking the route to 6 SZ.

The Chinese have a new master.

Italy continues the back and forth in Alexandria taking it for their Objective. Air Trprts continue to fly into Tobruck.

ANZAC would strike the IJN Fleet off Singapore with Subs and Ftrs. Despite destruction of their entire attacking Force, they would do signifigant damage sinking both CVs and shooting down all the JPN Air.
This would have a strong impact on future Pacific Naval Operations for IJN.

Germany begins to move their Minor Fctrys underground due to American SBRs. They also start construction on the Atlantic Wall.

Panzers Blitz into and back the undefended TTys of ARCH, Smolensk and Bryansk. A Elite takes control of Novgorod. The Soviet Baltic CA is sunk in 113. The Kriegsmarine joins the Regia Marina in 95. Norway is reinforced via LCV.
The Heer remains concentrated in Belarus. England is no longer being convoyed but Cairo is.

The communists begin Mass Tank production and begin to deploy Guard Inf.
Novgorod, UKR and Caucasus would all be taken. The Red Army is concentrated in Karelia and Moscow with 3rd Corps leading the Far East Army in Amur.

Nippon rebuilds the destroyed Naval Base in the PHIs and is forced into Inf only builds instead af Armor as they start to replace their lost CVs from the Battle off Singapore.

They take DNG, Celebes and Java, while continuing to skirmish with the Americans in 16 SZ. Air Trprts continue to reinforce Carolines. The Kansu Army withdraws from the Soviet Frontier to Kweichow.
Jehol and Yunnan have sizable forces to counter Amur and India.

The yanks commision the USS Missourri and add 3 more B-17s to the Army Air Corps.
The Atlantic Fleet would move into the Med in 92 and conduct landings against Morocco and Algeria.
Bmbrs would move to GIB. The Pacific Fleet remains in Pearl Harbr.

China is no more lol

UK builds both a Air and Naval Base for GIB. Large RAF units and a unescorted Trprt attack Tobruk. The Italians are destroyed but the RAF takes heavy losses.

Italy takes UKR in a small battle. Their Navy remains in a defensive posture in 95.

ANZAC rebuilds their Air Force. The Fighting Spirit of their Army is showcased when a single Inf attacks an Elite JPN Div in Burma. Sadly for them, they are defeated while doing no damage.

NG is reinforced by Air and Sea. A small Naval Task Force begins to take shape off of New South Wales.

Early 1943
Germany would take Novgorod but a single brave Inf in Finland would defeat an attack by a Tac, Elite and Inf. Undefended E Front TTYs would once again be taken.
S FRA would see heavy reinforcement.

SSR builds a Minor Fctry in Finland and moves the Karelian Army there.

Stalin orders an attack on JPN all along it’s border. Manchuria and Korea fall, as well as Tsinghai. The Kansu and Sikang attacks would fail.
Attritional battles continue in Europe with Rostov and Novgorod back under Soviet control.

1st Tank and 3 Grd units move to Kazakhstan and the Air Force will land there.

After the Soviet attack, JPN switches to heavy Army buys, including Total War Tanks and another Fctry in China.

A DD lands a Inf in Kamchatka and mobile units with small Air support would take Tsinghai. In a close battle a Fortified Sumatra would fall, giving JPN the DEI bonus.
The largest combat would take place in Manchuko where JPN would send all available Air, the Land units in Jehol as well as amphibous attack being supported by the Naval units in PHI. While victory was expected, it exceeded expectations and was a smashing success.

The Americans build a Harbor on Wake and the Pacific Fleet would move there. The Med Fleet moves to 94 and Tunisia would be taken. The entire American N African Army would be stationed there.
With 11 Trprts in the Fleet and a heavy combination of Marines and Arty in Tunisia, along with 6 Bmbrs in Gib and the USS Missourri now within supporting range as well, The Italians face a signifigant threat.
UK forces in Egypt and GIB contribute to the danger.

China’s brief moment of liberation was short lived and they are back under the Japanese boot.

Britain begins Total War Ftr builds. They land in Greece and fail to liberate Tsinghai due to unexpected stiff resistance from JPN.

Units are sent to Kazakhstan to support the Soviet Army there. Egyptian Forces move to the ME to prevent a possible suicide attack by Italy from Alexandria that would activate the conditions for a German Takeover of Italy.

Italia takes Egypt and Greece and lands a Para unopposed in Caucasus. The Regia Marina moves to 99 and reinforces the newly taken Greece.

ANZAC would go with a max Sub build and conduct successful combat against DNG.

Oh my a month has gone by :). I’ll try and start work on some of the earlier action again soon :)

It’s been a tough slog and the war is far from decided in Late 1945. @crockett36 has taken command of all Allied Forces. It is believed that Otto Skorenzy and the Gestapo have abducted @VictoryFirst .
Rumor has it that British Commandos are working on a rescue. Hopefully it will succeed.

The Soviets build up with a mixed unit combination of Paratroopers, Commissar, Tank, Artillery and Elite Infantry. also a lot of Mines.

Massive re-organization plus troop movement by Strategic Rail Movement.

Japan:
The japenese produced 1 factory 2 transports and 1 elite infantry.

Opening attacks in China.

Re-organization of the Imperial Japanese Navy.

United States:
Build up & re-organization in the Pacific.

All US factories are producing a maximum of 3 units, earmarked for use in the Pacific.

China:
Chinese units counter attack and capture Yunnan.

The japanese is only attacking in China,
and is organizing its fleet to attack in the 3e round.

The US

is building up units to kill Germany first, almost all money goes the Europe theater, the entire game.

UK

the UK retakes all original country’s from italy in Africa.

Situation in the end of round 3

Germany is building up a army group in the middle east,
The Japanese are sending units to reinforce the italians and germans in Africa.

In Round 3 the Japanese sends a part of his navy to seazone 58. This makes it possible to attack at multiple positions next round.
This forces the allies player to blockade all directions to fend off an enemy invasion.

The Japanese captured the money islands in the next rounds (also China was captured )
Butt slowly US and Anzac transport liberated the money islands.
A war of attrition was held.

The Japanese prepared to take the Phillipennes
Butt this island was heavily reinforced with fighter units.
The Japanese attacked butt lost 13-18 land based units. They captured the islands butt lost to many troops, to continue the fight and re-capture the money islands.

After the russians army consricption the Axis powers in the Europe Theater where slowly destroyed and Pushed back

Because of the heavy investment in units in africa and the middle east,
soon the eastern front collapsed.
The UK and the US including Russia attacked Germany every round massively.
In round 10 The German’s decided to take over Italy.
and captured Egypt again with heavy losses for the British player.

**This was a very skilled and strategic planned operation, The Allies waited for the Germans to take over. They Allies where counting the ipc tracker on a massive scale.

So the Russians captured country’s deep in the German homeland.

The US captured the Atlantic coast including Holland , Norway Danmark including French. And Normandy.

The UK captured southern France.

The Anzac Captured the last money islands.

So after this Round the allies have like 200 ipc plus on the ipc tracker.
So a economic victory was a fact.

Fun Fact: there is a waffen army fighting in China in the final round.

This is the only post in the No. 17 Game Report.

Germany:
From Early 1940, Germany prepared for a Fullscale Attack on the Soviet Union.
Infantry, Panzer Armies and Waffen-SS Armies were marched up along the entire Eastern Front.

Small scale production of U-Boat units kept the United Kingdom busy in the Med. and the Atlantic.

Soviet Union:
As the Germans were clearly preparing for a Massive Assault on the Soviet Union, the Soviets produced their maximum number of 9 Soviet Guard Infantry units as well as 26 Red Army Conscription Infantry units.

Most of the Eastern Front was heavily defended In Depth with Mines. This strategy proofed to be costly for the German Frontline units - during both Combat Movement and Non-Combat Movement.

The Soviets planned for a Static Defense in order to make each captured territory as costly as possible to the Germans.

Japan:
In Early 1941 Japan launched a large scale invasion of several islands in the Pacific.
Fighting was still ongoing in China.
The Japanese Navy was expanded massively - but scattered across the southern part og the Pacific to support amphibious assaults on most islands.

United States:
In Early 1941 the United States activated the US National Guard due to a Japanese attack on the Philippines.
US Naval units & troops attacked Italian occupied Morroco and hunted down several German U-Boat units in the Atlantic.

United Kingdom:
As German U-Boat units were gradually eliminated in the Atlantic and UK forces occupied the Money Islands in the Pacific, the UK economy was strongly increased.
The Industrial Complex in India was producing at its maximum during the entire War.

As Japanese troops captured Borneo, Celebes and Kwangtung the UK economy was reduced, but the production still kept going on in India.

Italy:
Italian Naval & Air units managed to clear the Med from Allied surface Warships.
North Africa was captured by skillfull planned Italian attacks.
The Italian economy was strong in Late 1940 and Early 1941.

ANZAC:
As UK troopes occupied the Money Islands in the Pacific, a continuous flow of ANZAC troops were transported to those islands - by Naval Transport units and Air Transport units.

This proofed to be an impossible task for the Japanese troops to overcome - and Sumatra, Malaya & Java stayed on Allied hands the entire War.

Early 1943:
German troops were halted on the Eastern Front.

Soviet troops captured Iraq, Italian Somaliland, Ethiopia, Tobruk, Libya and Finland.
Soviet Paratrooper units also captured Bulgaria and Slovakia Hungary.
At the same time the Soviets launched counter attacks against German forces on the Eastern Front.

Japanese troops captured all of China - but all supply lines were scarcely protected and vulnerable to enemy attacks.

United States launched attacks in the Pacific against thinly held Japanese islands.
At the same time the US attacked Western Germany - and eliminated most German units. The backbone og the German defense in Western Germany was the1st. Waffen-SS Army.
This Waffen-SS Army suffered casualties - and the surviving Waffen-SS units were now left alone to face an imminent Massive UK Amphibious Assault in Western Germany.

United Kingdom launched attacks in southern China - liberating several Chinese territories - and pushed Japanese Infantry units, Air units and Tank units back towards their factory sites in Kiangsu and Shantung.
Western Germany was captured by strong UK forces.

The End: Early 1944
At the beginning of Early 1944, the total Allied Economy reached 201 IPC on the Expanded National Production Chart.

Strong Soviet forces pushed forward deep into China - and the Soviet 1st Army Group in Eastern Poland was heavily supported by strong Tank & Infantry forces - ready for the Final Assault on Berlin.

The Axis resistance simply collapsed under the enormous pressure from Allied forces.

These units where a pain in the ass for the Japanese the entire game and liberated China in the final stages of this Game.

NOTE The Game ended in early 1945.

Final stages of the Game

At the end of this game:

The Allies where on the offensive on a massive scale.
Russia together with the US liberated China.

Germany was fighting on all sides of his borders,
with almost no air units left it was hard to counter all attacks.
Germany could not take over italy because of 1 italian artillery on vacation in Morroco.

Still Germany had an decent army on the eastern front butt could not push forward because The russians simply outnumberd the Germans.

The UK was sending a huge army to India to recapture it…
in Early 1945 the game ended because there was no time to complete the game.
( had to cath the plane) butt it was a very good game.
So the game in this point was a draw.

However, if the game had continued for like 3-5
The Allies were in my opinion on the winning hand.

Which picture is correct - and are all the other pictures from Early 1945 ?

We recommend that the pictures in any Game Report should follow this procedure:

• First picture: ENPC - to show the IPC Level and Year & Season.
  In this way it is easy to any viewer to clearly see what is the Economic Situation and also to locate the round which the following pictures show.
• Second picture: Army Boards, The Atlantic, America, Africa and the western part of the Eastern Front.
• Third picture: Eastern Front and all the way to India/Asia
• Fourth picture: India and all the way to the most eastern part of the game board (Pacific etc.)

The second, third and fourth pictures must include the game board from its most southern part to the most northen part.

Early 1940 - Early 1941

Germany
The Kriegsmarine builds a steady 3 U-boats per turn. They are able to sink the Canadian ships in Early 1940 as well as the Royal Navy in 110 and 111.
In Late 1940 they begin to Convoy the British Isles, as well as Nova Scotia. The Wehrmacht would take Greece and the Luftwaffe would produce a Air Fleet Commander.
Early 1941 and 4 Fallschirmjäger Divisions along with 4 LCV’s would concentrate in Romainia. The newly formed 1st Luftflotten would deploy there as well.

Russia
The Soviets would produce a fair amount of Landmines, as well as maxing out their Paratrooper production.

Germany
Late 1941 and the Kriegsmarine continues to launch 3 U-boats per turn. 2nd Luftflotten will also deploy.
After the Italian attack on the Soviet Union, the Fuhrer will send the Wehrmacht and Waffen Units into E POL in force.
Fallschirmjagers will take an undefended Rostov and Cauacasus.

Both small footholds in Caucasus and Rostov would fall to Soviet counterattacks. Russian Engineers would arm 3 LMs each at 100 SZ .
The Wehrmacht with strong Luftwaffe support would take Caucasus with a large LCV landing. Two of the LCVs would be empty. While they avoided the LMs one would be lost in combat.

Novgorod is taken. Skirmishers take Belarus with some casualties due to LM’s.
Army Gruppe Center forms in Belarus. The Kriegsmarine withdraws to 113 SZ except for a Escort to deny any American Bombardment in 112 SZ.
The Soviets liberate the Caucasus.

Russia
Guard Infantry would begin to form in Late 1941. Counterattacks in Rostov and Caucasus would succeed. A light attack against Italian Armor in UKR would fail with both land units being destroyed.

The Red Army would successfully counterattack all along the Eastern front in Late 1942 with the bulk of their Forces concentrated in Smolensk opposite Army Gruppe Center.
One of the Minor Fctrys would also move to Smolensk.

Japan
Nippon subjugates China in Late 1941. After their heady Victory, Tojo pushes for All out War against the Western Allies. His view prevails.

Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore would fall to the Japanese Blitzkrieg. Borneo and Celebes would also be conquered by the Rising Sun.

The Americans invest heavily in their Navy and launch a successful Operation Torch in Late 1941.

They would finally engage in combat with 3 Ftrs attacking a solo JPN DD off Java. While successful, one of the Ftrs would be lost.

France
The French Forces that joined the British Army are eager for combat and payback. A small landing in Holland succeeds and though their survival is unlikely, they are happy to finally hit back at the enemy.

Early 1943 - Early 1944

Germany
In Early 43 minor combat takes place in Bryansk and Archangel. AG Center moves to Novgorod.
Late 43 a Waffen Para takes and undefended Urals shutting down Tankograd’s production. A medium size battle takes place in Archangel and AG Center would withdraw to E POL. AG South (I didn’t add the Western Front AG names for triplea) would form in Western Germany.

Early 44 the Eastern Front would be quiet with AG Center and 1st Soviet AG staring each other down. Valuable units would move from W GER to N Italy to try and prevent any USA canopener through S France to allow Montgomery and 1st UK Tank access to N Italy.

I believe that was a mistake and W GER should have been on Max Defend. I will explain in detail with pictures down below.

Russia
The Soviets would continue to skirmish with the Wehrmacht in Eastern Europe with slightly larger combats taking place in Novgorod.
Late 1943 would see an uptick in combat as German Fallschirmjager units would need to be rooted out in Caucasus, Rostov and the Urals. A decent sized Italian Force would need to be expelled in Ukraine as well.
1st AG would move into Belarus in strength.

Early 1944 Novgorod and Baltic States would be liberated and the situation in Eastern Europe would begin to stabilize.

Japan
Nippon would conduct minor naval combat in the Pacific and continue to fight over New Guinea.
They would have two strong Fleets. One in Home waters and the other off of DNG. A smaller Fleet would be in Manila in an escort role for Land units coming from Japan.

Large Infantry concentrations in India and Yunnan would stalemate each other with Armor units deployed slightly further inland.

USA
Uncle Sam partakes in the above mentioned battles with JPN while conducting minor attacks in N Africa and W Europe.
They take Normandy in Late 43 in force.

In the Atlantic they have strong Naval forces in 91 off of GIB and 110 off of London. In the Pacific, Nimitz has Halsey concentrated off of Wake with the Harbor there allowing them to threaten the main IJN Fleet in 6 SZ.

Start of American CM Early 1944

It is here that I feel the Allies missed an opportunity. Slamming everything at W GER followed up by the British doing the same would almost surely have been successful. I did not allow for the UK LCVs ( a reason to demo the Normandy Harbor but the London one made me decide not to. A mistake. ) but even if I had and not moved to N Italy, I think the Allies would still win albeit with heavier losses.

The Soviets say dam the losses and engage E POL or if the Wehrmacht has to fall back they will be threatening Romainia and the Balkans.

Hard to say for sure as big battles can be dicey and I didn’t test it out but that’s probably what I would have done. I’ll play it out in the future just to see what might have happened :)

But a quick calculation shows 31 USA hp followed by 27 for UK against 35 for the Reich.

As we shall soon see though, American High Command chose to gamble in the Pacific instead.

Update 5-8-25

UK
Early 1943 and the British will produce 6 LCVs in London. A solo Paratrooper with strong Air support would fail to take Normandy as the German Inf would acquit itself well, killing the tommie Para. Surprisingly an additional Para in London did not join in the attack.
India would continue to trade with Burma and the largest battle in Iraq would see the Brits prevail with a single Inf. The Naval Bombardment would prove key as well as heavy Air support.

Late 43 and they take Holland in a minor attack and the Iraq battle would continue with them once again taking control. In NCM, strong reinforcements would supplement the US landing in Normandy. 1st UK Tank would be among these.

Early 44 and a minor attack on Burma would fail. Iraq would stay in Italian hands as local British resources have been exhausted.
Sudan would maintain a powerful force in their standoff with the combined Axis Forces in Egypt.
The Middle East is now under complete Italian control.

Italy
1943 would see Italia invest heavily in their Army. They would continue to pressure the Soviets on the Eastern Front, taking UKR and fight in the above mentioned battles in Iraq against the British.

Late 43 would see combat continue in the Middle East with Persia falling to a Para attack. Forces withdrawing from N Africa would use their LCV to successfully take Malta.
Early 44 would see minor trading combats in UKR and S FRA.

ANZAC
ANZAC would continue to fortify Java in Early 43. In Early 44 a second CV would deploy. No combats would take place during this period.

Germany
The Reich would invest heavily in Panzers. Total War, King Tigers as well as a Waffen Heavy. A Panzerjager would also join the new Armored Forces.

Novgorod and Baltic States would fall in minor combats, with both being heavily supported by the Luftwaffe, including 2nd Luftflotten in the Baltic States.
Type XXI U-boats would begin to strike at the Allied Fleet in 110 and then return to their Subpens.

AG South in W GER would be heavily reinforced with 1st Luftflotten now stationed there and 6 Total War Panzers along with 6 Inf would also join them.

Russia
The Soviets continue the tit for tat in Novgorod and Baltic States and take NW Persia from the Italians.

Japan
They make some minor attacks in the Pacific but the main battle occurs in Novosibirsk with heavy Armor and Air units destroying a reinforced Soviet Corps.

USA
The Americans make a strong build of 2 CVs with Total War Ftrs supplemented by a large number of Infantry.

Feeling the war slipping away from them, FDR consults his top advisers. Admiral King advocates for an all out attack on IJN in their Home waters. His view prevails.
This would prove catastrophic for the US Navy and the entire American war effort.

The American attack would start poorly.

Yamamoto’s Forces would preform to their upmost abilities.

It would not end there.

Halsey’s aggressive nature left no option for retreat and pressed the attack. His men, horrified by their initial failure, do him proud and strike back hard.

It has the desired effect of slowing the Japanese defense.

The Americans would fire another devastating salvo.

Yamamoto’s response would end any chance of American victory.

The American Transports that had triggered “Home Defense” would be sunk as well and the additional Japanese Infantry would drink sake with their Navy rivals in a rare show of solidarity.

This crushing defeat leaves FDR no other choice than to sue for peace.

End Game

I think the above End of Early 1944 pictures are sufficient for the end game, so won’t post again now. Was another Fun game and @Trout is an excellent opponent and very enjoyable to play against.

Anyway, another long winded report comes to an end :) Hopefully Trout will comment on his impressions of the game.

Does USSR automatically get the 10 IPC when Italy attacks - or do you have to manually EDIT this procedure ?

@barnee Thanks for posting our game Barnee. Yes, Barnee played the better game but I am improving in our battle matches. With regards to attacking W. Germany, I believe I could have successfully attacked and won as Barnee describes, but my opinion at the time was that it was not a sustainable offense. I think I would have been pushed out with the inevitable counterattack. The Pacific naval battle did seem to me to be a good decision but alas sometimes bad dice win out. I don’t know if winning that battle would have changed the eventual outcome but it would have resulted in me not waving the white flag at that time. All in all a fun game. Looking forward to the next one.
