I played at the Superpowers game online site, it must be like 20 years ago. There was one gentleman who played about 200 games and only won four. I was totally impressed by his love of the game even though he just didn’t win very often.

I just logged out and now I’m about to log in and it gives me this error, so I have to uninstall and reinstall. It would be good to make a simple video of these steps for new players, so we’re less annoying. -

I don’t recognise that error, but I would uninstall and then reinstall.
If it re-occurs or still doesn’t work then I would ask for help on the TripleA forum (https://forums.triplea-game.org/)

yes, I’m trying to uninstall the game but it doesn’t let me, it keeps giving me the same error.

Maybe try to uninstall it via Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features.
Otherwise you’ll need to ask for help at the TripleA site if your uninstall application is screwed.
You could try abandoning that installation, and doing a fresh install in a different directory.

The problem is that there are no online players in this version. I had version 2.7, which has more new features than this one, but there are no players on the server either. -
I don’t know how many players play games in real-time. I believe most players here do either Play by Forum or Play by Email. I don’t think players hang out in a lobby looking for games either. If people want to play in real-time, they would probably arrange a time to meet with another player.
