World at War 1939 2nd edition rule book less 😢

Hello all! This is my first time posting so I am unsure wether this is going to work. I got my hands on an expansion of axis and allies made my xeno games. It takes place in 1939 and it is the second edition. Sadly there is no rule book inside as it is used and there are none on the web anywhere. Is there anyone that has a copy of it who could send the pdf of the rule book? Thank you!

Yes here are the pictures. Like I said it is only missing the rule book the rest is there.

@barnee thank you I will check there though I think those are the rules for the third edition while mine is of the second edition. I’ll explore some of these options!

The closest you will likely find to the rules for The World at War, Second Edition. will be to find a copy on eBay. They come up once or twice a month for 5 or 10 dollars (or more if someone “knows what they have”.)

The next closest would be to download the rules for the Third Edition from bgg.com. You can find them here: (https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/1639/world-at-war-rules-31pdf).

The rules from 2005, sometimes called the Fourth Edition rules, are further away from what you would have had in the Second Edition. But not by much, I don’t think the rules for this game changed much after the original was printed.

Thanks a lot it sure does help! I already took a look at the third edition rules and I figured I could use those instead :) I’ll try to blend it with some of my pieces from Axis & Allies Global map 1940 since I do not have the old axis and allies necessary. If you have any other suggestions or advices let me know and thanks again :D

@ipoulin My one piece of advice for playing World at War has to do with the fact that some special units (e.g. US Mech. Infantry, German Panzers) are only allowed to be had in limited numbers.

I would figure out how many of what and then set aside a reserve of pieces just for those roles. I would then mark those units in a distinctive way: many people use paint or a marker pen to add a bit of color, you could also set aside appropriate WaW pieces just for those roles.

If you do that, you won’t have “too many” of a certain unit and it’s easier to tell them apart from regular units.

Once, when I was playing a game, a few turn in:
German player: “How many US Mech Inf have you bought?”
US Player “All of the infantry I’ve bought have been Mech Inf…”

Good luck telling that apart!
