@Elrood That was my initial thought but open to ideas. I was just surprised to open the save and realize the Italian navy was gone :)
@Elrood You didn’t ask for OOL in 86 either. And you took the US destroyers as hits when you still had attacking subs…and eliminated two cv with surprise shots because there were no dd. It’s probably not going to matter much, but anytime you have a big naval battle, you should let the defender choose OOL.
@captainwalker we can do OOL, but that wake SZ battle was a one sided 100% slaughter… while the Malta SZ attack was more of a coin toss gamble at 50%

@captainwalker I don’t bother as much in a team game; different in a one on one , of course .
The Pacific battle was 90+%. Had to be full defence for the Allies.
I must confess that I didn’t check the odds in the Med ; been too busy with family stuff.
Ron could have posted something , after he did his go , but , equally , probably didn’t want to suggest you guys had 50% on him .

Hmm, I ran the battle max defense for Italy as I was going for broke. I don’t think or recall there being an issue in the battle?
by that I mean, I think all the subs were dead more or less at same time and there never was a point where either of us had a potential for sneak shot
but, I can got back an look line by line if you want.
I’m fine if folks just would rather continue or if we want to try to reroll things. I glanced through it and I think the issue would be this round casualties:
2 Fighters owned by the British, 3 Submarines owned by the British and 3 Destroyers owned by the British lost in 48 Sea Zone
5 Submarines owned by the Italians, 2 Transports owned by the Italians and 1 Destroyer owned by the Italians lost in 48 Sea Zone
British roll dice for 2 Adv.Fighters, 1 Bomber, 2 Cruisers and 3 Fighters in 48 Sea Zone, round 4 : 6/8 hits, 3.67 expected hits
Italians roll dice for 1 Adv.Fighter, 1 Battleship, 2 Carriers, 2 Destroyers and 3 Fighters in 48 Sea Zone, round 4 : 2/9 hits, 4.50 expected hits
Essentially the destroyers should have been taken before the subs since the UK doesn’t have any subs/destroyers left. That would mean the 2 subs would roll first and potentially sink UK cruisers before the UK gets to roll.
And yeah I didn’t expect the attack so didn’t give any OOL as it was like a 50/50 battle with Italy having I think a +20 TUV average.
Yeah, but I would just have kept a dd, which wouldn’t have change my attack profile as my ftrs were still at 2 and still had three of them
So, yeah, not sure it would make any difference
But to be fair I will do a line by line to see if I screwed up…
Itay was doing fine until that 3rd Round , when you just had 8 UK units vs 9 It ones.
Not sure why you rolled another Round, Karl, but it won you the battle. You hit 6 times and Italy just 2, with 22 attack vs 27 defence.
I forgot to say that Ron needed to move my 3 Gib ships on his go. Hope that is still okay.

Agreed! I honestly thought the engine would go for max defense… but it also includes costs I realized
