Scramble 3 fighters to 99.
L24 BM Stucifer (X) vs Booper (L+22)
-
@Booper skipped scramble from Guam (which turned out to be a great decision for you haha)
-
Interesting - if the fighter had scrambled, given the rolls, the cruiser missed, and the fighter hit, so wouldn’t the cruiser, marine, and the invading transport and marines all have been sunk?
-
oops, I meant invading infantry on the transport.
-
Oh, I see you brought in other planes to SZ21 as well.
Well, glad I made the right decision! :)
-
Yes, and yes I brought the extra planes to discourage a scramble. 94% chance to capture with the 3 units + a bombard, I got the 3% draw. ☠️😂
-
I can live with a draw, if you had managed to keep the fighter alive as well that would have been bad. I believe there is a transport in range that would be a free kill, or just attempt to kill the cruiser and take the 30% chance you get both the cruiser and the transport and the fighter lives to fly to Hawaii still!
-
Yes, would have been super-fortunate for Allies if the fighter lived! I’ve never had a sea lion played on me, so this is new territory! Exciting either way. :)
I have some UK battles which need decisions on your part:
SZ92 Does your sub fight or submerge?
SZ43 Let me know your OOL if possible. -
@Booper 92 will submerge.
For 43, if you want to roll on the forum and edit the results that might be easiest. OR, you can turn edit mode on before you start the battle, and choose no casualties for the subs if they score a hit, and then give me the total number of hits and I can pick casualties when the rest of the ships roll.You probably know this but just in case:
If you get sub hits, TripleA makes you choose casualties.But, since I have a destroyer I’m allowed to see the hits your other ships get too before making casualty selection.
The way TripleA is coded though it always rolls subs separately.
-
I’m glad you mentioned it, as I was aware of some rule of this nature, but had not seen it so clearly stated as you have here! I will try to do the rolls on the forum, but haven’t done it before, will try a test.
-
OK, will roll in ascending order.
2 subs
[dice 2d6]1 DD
[dice 1d6]1 CA
[dice 1d6]1 BB
[dice 1d6] -
2d6: 5, 3
1d6: 4
1d6: 3
1d6: 4 -
2 non-sub hits, let me know your casualties at your leisure. Feel free to do your response rolls here too.
-
both hits will go to carrier.
[dice 1d6<=1] Carrier
[dice 1d6<=2] DD
[dice 2d6<=4] Fighters -
1d6<=1: 4; Hits: 0
1d6<=2: 4; Hits: 0
2d6<=4: 6, 2; Hits: 1 -
OK, so 1 hit from you, will absorb on the BB. Carriers in BM only defend at 1? I didn’t realize!
[dice 2d6<=2] 2 subs
[dice 1d6<=2] DD
[dice 1d6<=3] CA
[dice 1d6<=4] BB -
2d6<=2: 1, 6; Hits: 1
1d6<=2: 3; Hits: 0
1d6<=3: 3; Hits: 1
1d6<=4: 4; Hits: 1 -
OK, that finishes it off. I’ll go ahead and roll your response hits. If you are rolling simultaneous, we’ll take whoever gets in first.
[dice 1d6<=2] DD
[dice 2d6<=4] Fighters -
1d6<=2: 3; Hits: 0
2d6<=4: 4, 4; Hits: 2 -
OK, battle complete. Most likely will lose 2 subs, but will take a look at the board to confirm. Will try to finish out the turn shortly.
-
@Booper Sorry, they defend at 2, I am used to PtV where they only defend at 1.
