Here is what you do. upload the AA rules of whatever version. then Chat Cpb or Genmini upload the rules and it will decide with brutal logic. The Battleship is priced correctly if its 20IPC and takes 2 hits and SB at 4. the only issue might be the Carrier could have different combat values, otherwise its good. Let AI solve your issue!
[Global 1940] 2nd Revised Setup For France
-
@Tamer-of-Beasts Maybe a Transport to in Indochina I’m not sure about that yet. I still think France should have a Tank in Algeria maybe not or one strong piece somewhere that does not get destroyed in round 1 that they can use.
-
@FranceNeedsMorePower That does sound fun but you still have the problem of Italy being underwhelming in the first place. I hesitate to add anything to France that could impact Italy in any meaningful way. Doing so would require an Italian change in setup, and if I understand correctly, the goal here is a little more excitement and possibly balance, not redoing the whole game. Changing the Italian setup because you changed France’s (beyond slowing Germany down) is more of an alternate edition than a house rule.

@Tamer-of-Beasts @SuperbattleshipYamato
Also, I think the French Cruiser in 110 should be a Battleship. Thoughts? Ideas? Changes?
Can everyone agree with me the French transport and battleship sculps look weird. I wish they had unique sculps.
-
@Tamer-of-Beasts I agree I would say I think more units need to be added to Libya maybe 1 Infantry. Wow! This got off topic. 😂 I like it. I should come up with changes for each country. That probably to much… so no French units added to afraica.
-
@Tamer-of-Beasts Should there be a Free French income maybe a complex in Indochina and west afraica so it takes a while for the units to attack italy?
-
@FranceNeedsMorePower My honest answer is that I think you are taking off more than you can chew at once. I suggest playtesting this in phases. Start with making minor adjustments to France (like the ones I suggested or similar). If that makes you happy-great! If not, then slowly add changes.
It seems right now that you are a little too eager to change everything, and I fear you will wind up disappointing yourself and never settling on anything.
Just my two-cents, but those are my honest thoughts. Start simple and give France a low-impact option or two.
-
@FranceNeedsMorePower Making the cruiser in 110 a BB wildly upsets the naval battle G1. While I respect the goal of powering up France, I stick with my previous comment about starting small. This move would take off at least 1 or 2 planes from Germany and likely preserve the Royal Navy elsewhere, causing later game shifts.
-
@Tamer-of-Beasts Your right. So to sum it up these are the changes for France.
-
French Fighter removed from London
-
1 UK Infantry has been added to France
-
1 Transport added to sea zone 105. (Maybe a Destroyer optional.)
-
2 Infantry added to Indochina along with a Destroyer in the sea zone next to it. Naval Base and And Airfield added as well.
And that’s all the changes right?
-
-
@FranceNeedsMorePower Pretty good. I’d leave the fighter in London though so it doesn’t mess up the naval battles the other way. Having the 3 fighter scramble is a valuable option. 2 simply wouldn’t cut it.
-
Looks good!
I do agree with Tamer of Beasts that we should keep the French fighter there, or at least change it to a British one.
I think not adding anything to North Africa is fine. French forces weren’t that strong.
-
@SuperbattleshipYamato We should keep it French because the Fighter can fly to a lot of places and that could represent the scattered Free French air forces.
-
Sure.
-
@SuperbattleshipYamato @Tamer-of-Beasts Go check my idea for battle of britain game.

This post is deleted! -
@FranceNeedsMorePower Absolutely,do NOT add a AB+NB to FIC in the set -up.It would be a very generous gift to Japan.
-
@ampdrive Hmm. I see then just a naval base would be good. Although one of the main reasons Japan wanted Indochina was because of its airfields and shipyards. So maybe a airbase and a naval base with a infantry and artillery to defend. Indochina was known for its forts that is what the artillery represents.
-
That’s a better idea, especially since Japan is usually somewhat stretched to the limits on their declaration of war on the US.
