Thanks, I did not know that! Yeah that declaring of where I put my reinforcements was just to help me not make mistakes lol. It can get quite tricky with those reinforcements because you need to look carefully at which units you get, and also where you can put them. Stating where I am placing everything helps to keep track of everything. And it might be useful for you if I happen to make a mistake - you can easily see what I was planning to do in that case.
Enjoying the game so far! D-Day is really a different experience than the other A&A games. Looking forward to seeing more of it!

@VictoryFirst Again, this move is impossible as it is more than eight units. If you want to move units into St. Lo, you would pick eight units to make the move and then roll fighters for each unit.
If all eight units were destroyed by fighters, you could not add more.
