Man, this really increases the attacker’s advantage.
I get lucky again,
Do you lose the carrier and a plane, or both planes? -
I’ll go with the carrier.
-
Thanks for the quick comeback -

Wow! All 8 units hit!!
And I got sloppy - I should have established 2 more retreat routes.
-
Man, battleships are bad, especially when the bombardment casualties can fire back.
Keeping the bomber, all other units are destroyed in a single round.
Don’t have time to finish now, time for church. -
R2 to come
-

-
My bomber couldn’t find your sub in the Atlantic so it withdrew
I guessed North Sea, but edit it to whever you want!
-
Hmmm you probably want West Med or something
I just picked something, and you edit when doing Japan
-
I’ll submerge in the same spot.

Will you go ahead and edit it to there, then? I’m just leaving to go to an appointment right now
-
yeah I already did it!
-
You just moved - I’ll edit it, no problem
-
Wow this feels weird. I don’t think I ever played the sub rules right.
I’m going to be a lot harder to beat the 2nd time I play 🍳 -
I moved an extra guy to Western Europe instead of Eastern Europe in edit mode btw.
-
Thanks for pointing out the edit
This is fascinating. I don’t think I’ve ever played Classic against a good, experienced player, and pretty sure never online. I thought it strange when people talked about the “infantry push”, but after a ton of experience with AA50 and Global, especially, and going back to Classic I get it. When I played against myself on the living room floor 33 years ago, I could mess around with buying various units and techs to make it fun.
I don’t know where elche’s been, but I’m glad you grabbed me for these (at least) 2 games.
I do think the Allies are much easier to win with, from what I heard when I came around online maybe 2003 or so. So I’m glad I got the Allies for the warm-up game. I think I’m understanding the sub capabilities now, but will probably still be caught off guard.
