@dawgoneit A while back In my history readings I read that the southern steppes tribal peoples such as the ancestorial relatives of Turks, accepted Islam as it spread, but the northern tribes didn’t because they wouldn’t give up alcohol/hard liquor, which helped them get through the bitter cold winters. Sounds plausible, as Russians are also known as heavy drinkers.
