Okay, that is not fair. If you had remembered to unload the 2 ground units the computer would have queried you if you had wanted to bombard. Since we agree that the unloading of the infantry is allowed as an edit you should get to bombard too.
There was only 1 Japanese infantry remaining for the second round of combat that got a hit. If your BB or CA hits during bombard that infantry would be dead and would not be there to fire again.
Please roll the BB and CA in the Forum. If one of them gets a hit please edit a US fighter back on to the board. If they both miss, then nothing changes.

Actually, this is pretty amazing for me. Usually my Caroline defense gets nothing; sometimes a singe infantry.
