How to Play D-Day on TripleA

@The_Good_Captain yes well done ! I’ve never played this on triplea either. Had the old AvalonHill game as a kid.

Some cool use of triplea. Different from most games. In case you’re not aware, you can also fight battles in edit and player enforce casualties that way too.

Idk if it’s needed with D-Day, but another nice tool. The “Perform Move or Other Actions” is also a helpful edit tool, although it only works in CM and NCM.

@barnee thanks Barnee. I will def review your recommendation, especially as regards battles in the edit mode. Didn’t know that one.

*I too played D-Day from AH, but the “Smithsonian Edition”. Fun, simple, hex-based.

yea VictoryFirst discovered the battle in edit. Sadly he’s too busy to play these days. It works well with The Captains Global 40 Expansion mod

I noted that there is also a map D-Day 3. Is that an update of the D-Day 2 or different?

Do you know who made this map ?

I’m putting together an alternate units folder using mostly Frostion and some @Black_Elk units that are used in The Captains Expansion mod for any that want a different look.

Here’s a couple shots.

Can’t do them all and might need another ParaAttack for UK which would require some xml work.

@barnee according to the credits, the map was created by these two fellows: Dagon81 and ZjelcoP - very cool looking pieces you have there too ;)

@Martin according to the credits, D-Day 3 is some kind of fan made, 3rd party variant. I just stick with the canon games and use out-of-box rules. I would advise against using D-Day 3 if you’re trying to play using out of box rules.

@The_Good_Captain ahh i missed it in the notes. Zjelco around once in a while. Real knowledgeable about triplea. Been around from the begininig I think, or close to it.

I’ll see if i can reach him on git with the alternate units. If not, it’ll have to be a user dl add on thingy.

I have a d day map if your interested in for Triple A and or piece rules added and I just use 1 deck. You can still do the normal game on it also.
