I am not sure which of your moves you considered bone-headed! I think I played the US turn 5 about 6 times trying different attacks and placements before I found one I liked. Perks of the forum format! I feel my strongest position is the Soviets, the dice gods favored me in that one battle. Not sure how the battle for Africa will progress at this point, gonna be a fraught campaign for the Brits!

On reconsidering CM, thanks, that’s generous. I stuck with the original plan. In hindsight I think I discounted either the fighter or the tactical and would have brought in one more infantry, but the dice would not have favored me either way. Got fantastic dice in Northern Belarus, of course… :laughing:

Unfortunate about Quebec, I misunderstood that the carriers in 110 could not scramble an empty, adjacent SZ to defend an Amphibious assault. I was thinking since airbases can even without defending ships the Carrier could too. Still learning!

The scramble rule for air bases and CVs is the same for land territories but different for sea zones. I find this inconsistency in the rules inelegant and I still have to consciously think each time what rule applies.
