That’s the kind of dice I needed! I hadn’t thought of that strafe in Persia. Would have worked out brilliantly if the dice were flipped.

Okay, that is the game. I had to retake India and failed.
Congratualtions on the win!
Good luck in the Final.
-
That Germany turn really set you back with the bad luck in Eastern Persia. The dice taketh and the dice giveth.
Thanks for a fun match! I learned so much during this game. My Allies play is very rusty and I would not have won without heavily studying your past game history and seeing that I could hold China with the additional units there plus the Siberia distraction.
I do think 60 is a bit too much for a bid. Have you changed your mind about that number now?

Nope, I still think $60 is the right number. If I had played mistake free, as you did, I think I would have won. And that is the way it should be; either side can win and whoever makes fewer mistakes wins. I lost because of two things, besides you playing great of course.
- I made a mistake on J1 that was costly. I forgot that you had Bid a mech in Burma and did not change my opening move accordingly. Because of that you took back FIC and that was a very big setback for me. Against a lesser Player I could have overcome my mistake but you proved to not be a lesser Player.
- I now realize my Axis strategy is flawed if Yunnan is stacked on R1. I am actually working on a post now to describe that. I think with a revised strategy the Yunnan Stack can be overcome; which means the Axis can still win at $60.

Congratulations to @Arthur-Bomber-Harris for this win, and also to @AndrewAAGamer for an excellent game! This was really fun to watch, and I was lurking right from the start.
I really enjoyed it, from the early attacks on the japanese fleets, the conquering and loss of France, and finally the US attack in turn 16. Great game and lots lo learn for the likes of me!
This game really did not deserve the “Semi” before the final, and I am not very confident we can keep up this quality when I am playing @Arthur-Bomber-Harris in the subsequent final… will be an honor to try though!
BTW, both: I read your comments regarding these battles in turn 16 and 17, that were so dicy and did nearly turn this game by luck alone… in the future maybe remember my words when I call out: LowLuck makes the game a better game! ;-)
https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/39727/low-luck-explained-advertisedHave fun!

@Myygames Swings in luck simulate history much more than low luck. Battles like Samar Island, Salamis, Agincourt, Midway (arguably) would be blowouts on a AnA battle board.
-
@crockett36 I personally prefer low-luck. I have had games where I get diced on turn 1 and gave up by turn 3.
What can you do when there is a critical battle that is 97% chance of winning, but you get slaughtered?
-
@Arthur-Bomber-Harris That’s life! The battle is not always to the strong, the race to the swift. I just had Moscow fall with 70 percent chance of victory AND he survived with way more units than he “should” have.
This is the immersive experience. The mathematical precision and highly detailed plans fall apart with first contact with the enemy. Then your tactical skills kick in. Your training. Your courage.
LL is useful for developing strategies, granted. But for game day, leave it home. We here on AnA.org have got to be able to interact with the broader AnA community. They’re playing to reenact the great crusade, roll the dice and have fun.
Good luck btw. You are the Allies. I always want the Allies to win. I’ll be reviewing your game on Youtube.

In the first few days of Barbarossa, Stalin had a breakdown and was absent for several days. He rolled sixes for quite a while.
