Nearly a catastrophic mistake there.

I see 2 sets of e-mails, yes, thanks for pointing it out. I haven’t noticed failure to receive the dice e-mails, but I remember seeing that some players had trouble based on who their e-mail provider is. You might be able to find that discussion thread - I can look for a minute, too
-
Oof. Did I miss the infantry on Guam? What a huge difference he made.
-
Yeah, sitting in Caroline with the Navy is quite comfortable
-
Feeling a little overwhelmed. Will have to muster some morale. Wanna hit those 5 subs, but would be leaving some units to get swallowed up. Maybe burn through some kamikazes, though, that’s worth something. If I ever even get to your kamikaze zones the rest of the game
-
Haha that was my goal! Use those subs to tempt you into attacking into my kamikaze ;-)
-
It (your trap) will likely work. Those bombers are expected in Russia anyway. The question is if I can bait a scramble and punish you with luck!
-
GAA I can’t remember how I overlooked re-capture of Carolines
-
You’re right, going after 5 subs in 6 with 3 fighters protecting doesn’t quite work - well played, sir
Now I fall for another trap. Scramble brown fighters to their death in 95, or allow the fleet to be obliterated and then retaliate with massive airforces?
-
Yeah these 5 subs in 6 were a gambit. I tried to find the sweet spot, where an attack was ALMOST but not quite a good idea.
I love kamikaze for this exact reason - often times the Allies can’t attack because they can’t be sure if a destroyer survives or not. Especially since hit units can’t fire back.As Allies, I sometimes try to attack without the absolute need to win, just to get these kamikaze out of the picture because it is so hard to calculate properly if Japan still has access to them.
Now over in Europe, I actually have placed myself in a difficult situation. I knew what awaited me but I tried to postpone thinking about the choice for as long as possible. But I’m afraid I can’t drag it out any longer.
On the other hand, with your big royal airforce and navy, there was not much Italy could do to save those few precious ships…These Italian Airplanes are so valuable to clear blockers… on land AND sea. On the other hand … you do have Anzac / French units on hand anyway…
Send those 3 fighters out, I’ll blast some British planes out of the sky with them!
-
Will be a bit, don’t stay up
-
I don’t like moving those 3 Egypt fighters to the West and not on an airbase, that’s bad. Was hoping to shoot down fighters, so we’ll see what the dice say. Later, that is.
-
Really wanted to hit those subs to give something for the bombers to do on the way to Russia, but I want the bombers to stay in the Pacific theater.
Would take at least 2 destroyers and 2 subs, plus another fighter to go to Russia if it survived, and that’s just not even coming out ahead. You come back and absorb the hits on capital ships. Nice calculating. I even thought about sending a carrier up there I wanted to kill them so badly. You have too many subs for my liking now
-
Yeah, Japan can use a lot of subs and it’s not always easy to resupply them. I have to take the few chances I get.
You on the other hand have too many bombers for my liking!

Oh, no, am I going to become a complex in Persia guy? And an airbase on Egypt? What have you done to me? I don’t like playing like other people :unamused:
-
Probably from many long games with Boldfresh in OOB, I knew to never build a complex in Persia, he’d just take it, and that’s curtains.
But with all these Russia and India NO’s… Boy the planes fly to Moscow/Bryansk or India immediately. But I still favor putting major pressure on Germany’s west, and those adventures elsewhere really take away from that. 'course you have 19 slow units on Paris… so maybe it makes sense
Why did I build it? Looking at history, because I didn’t have anything very useful to spend 12 on at London, and probably because I could tell Moscow and India were in trouble. And no trouble from Italy.

The dice came up big for me in 95.
The whole reason that french fighter is there is to take down the Italian bomber.
I realized that transport was going to be naked, too late. But the French are going to stand in the gap. For their own boys precariously perched above the vast Red Sea.
