That Belorussia battle was indeed brutal. And the Moscow battle also didn’t go very well for you…
Taking capitals in this game is so harsh for the defender in my opinion. That IPC loss for the Russians is just fatal, which I think is a bit unhistorical. I mean, in the real war, the Russians would’ve continued the war if Moscow was taken. Sure they would’ve suffered from a big morale hit, but not that big that they can’t recover at all.
On the other hand, the territory ‘Russia’ in this game is very big and contains the industrial areas behind Moscow as well. So technically, Russia would surrender if the Germans would have taken all that stuff. But gameplay-wise, having to end the game immediately if the capital gets taken, I think it’s the only flaw of this game. I mean, you just got diced in one battle, that should not lose the entire game I find.

@VictoryFirst Howdy. I am afraid I have to throw the towel. With the Russian out of the game and no chance to get it back (I could re-take it next round with an 88% chabce, but you will take it back right away), UK will be next etc.

Alright, that’s the end of our first game then. You are right, you can take Moscow back, but the Germans have too many follow-up forces coming and Moscow will eventually fall to German hands for good.
