I cut it many times and came up with Axis +1.20. Have to do some fancy footwork to get the flank stats “right”.
We’re going to go with Axis +1.20. Back to you

I’m still surprised. Did the US coming into the war a few turns late really make that much of a difference? I mean 20 or so units, just late, not even disappeared, is nothing in this game. It’s not like it costed the Allies Paris, Constantinople, or Rome (tell me if that is the case).
Yes but the bigger problem I see is being so aggressive with France and Italy in the beginning. Attacking in that way is popular and the main reason I get confusion from opponents playing the Entente who end up losing the game. Even veteran players have told me, “I thought the game was imbalanced in favor of the Entente but you’ve shown me its not.” This is incorrect in my strong opinion. If you’re running armies into the CP’s guts with France and Italy - you’re losing. If you’re rolling dice at all (except on defense), you’re probably losing. Venice is Italy’s home base. It should build up there and make “raids” into the adjacent territories as per the Italy video (i.e. only do it if the Austrian counterattack results in a +TUV for the Italians). Same for France but around the Alsace region. I almost never take them into the Ruhr. That’s too far from base. That’s too close to the CP. Make them come to you. Make them attack uphill into an army that is 2x or even 3x larger than theirs. Going beyond that is to give the CP a chance. I don’t give them a chance - and in my opinion, neither should you. That being said, the Entente is so imbalanced that they can suffer horrible casualties and still recover. So play how you like but if someone was gonna give me a 1000 bucks by winning as the Entente - I’m not messing around and thats how to do it (in my experience).

Roger that, Captain (you don’t see me in real life, but I can’t stop making these puns with your name)! :+1:
I technically still hold the rank of Captain in the Army (though I got out in 2018 - I’m still in the inactive reserve). My ‘name’ was Captain in the Army for the last three years so I’m okay with that, haha. That’s pretty much why its in my title here - why there is an Infantry officer in my handle waving troops forward - and why the rank of captain is on my YouTube homepage.
I’ll be leaving tonight, so expect me to respond in only 2-3 hours.
Very cool (hopefully that’s an appropriate word to use when describing real life war and militaries)!
Thank you. That makes a lot of sense.
Thanks for clarifying. When you responded the first time about why I lost, it seemed like the delayed American entry was more important, when I strongly suspected that the aforementioned French-Italian disasters would’ve been more important.

Yep. That’s what it is. More than likely staged knowing the Soviets but captures the sentiment of an officer in the field quite well… or how we all like to view ourselves, haha

@SuperbattleshipYamato to add to what I said earlier “Yep. That’s what it is. More than likely staged knowing the Soviets but captures the sentiment of an officer in the field quite well… or how we all like to view ourselves, haha”
Its also a slight nod to the game I was playing before Axis and Allies. Advanced Squad Leader is fun but so rules heavy that victory usually went to whoever knew the rules better - which I learned not to like.

Very cool! :+1: :+1: :)
@SuperbattleshipYamato Finally, I have an affinity for the Soviet soldiers of WWII. In terms of body count, they paid the check. Over 90% of Allied casualties were suffered by the Soviets. I’m very proud of the USA of course but …they took 9 million casualties and didn’t blink. The honest 1st hand accounts of Soviet soldiers (which are rare) are some of the most horrifying pieces of literature on war to read.
