Hmm, try filling in Email Username your email address instead of your username, so add @gmail.com behind it. I had this error too and I believe it gets fixed once you fill in your email address instead.

Very strange! Why do these things don’t just work out properly lol.
Are you sure the email username you filled in is the one you use for Axis&Allies.org?
Is the password correct?
Don’t know if it will solve the problem but you have to fill in your own dice server address in the To field, and the other person’s one in the Cc field. Right now you have them swapped.

I tried setting up the game myself, using your guy’s email addresses for the dice servers, and mine for the Automatically send email stuff, and it worked :)
The game booted up for me, so Cornelis can download this and do his turn using the procedure I described, and if everything is good it should work out.

No problem, but I think it’s best if we try one more time to get it to work for you as well. I believe you did not use the email you use for axisandallies.org. If you want to see which email you use, click on your profile icon on the right, and then on the first option containing your name.
Then, you see this screen:
Your email should be visible for you below all those numbers.

Also, one more thing, Send Test email isn’t necessary. You guys won’t use that option anyway. What’s important is that the dice emails are properly sent. If you click on play, does the game boot up?

@cornelis-post I will start us in a few minutes. just added the 1943 mod to use the boxes for initial Placement. Once game is started updates won’t affect anything. It’ll use the one you started with. Both need to start with same version is all.
