Actually I think I’ll call this a game. You fought well and I didn’t succeed enough with Japan which was my downfall. Not saying I played European axis perfectly, but the decisive part of the game I think was around those two occasions I could’ve attacked India, but decided against. Especially the second time when I was really put out of position by not following through. Not saying it was the main reason but you also hit very well in defense against Japan (except Yunnan first round of course) which left me with a bit too few land units during my push against India. Also, side note: would I’d succeeded both bombing campaigns without being shot down, I could’ve had one more bomber and you a few less land units in India, which could’ve made you not stack there when I had 90-100% wins and a big TUV swing. However, you played very well around Korea which stalled me quite a lot a more likely was reason for the failure. The play around Korea is definetely one thing I need to improve around in order to play a better Japan. Factory in Korea by Japan might’ve been foolish, not sure.
Anyway, you can breathe out and be happy for a much deserved place in the semi finals! :)

@pejon_88 this was a great game! Definitely one of the toughest axis strategies I’ve played against and it really pushed me to up my game. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever played the allies better than this and I felt very close to losing this at a number of points.
You are right that India was key here. I think I would have done the same as you and not attacked in these circumstances (despite the odds and TUV) but there is a question there about whether that may have worked out better for you, at least with the right dice. I always tried to make sure that if you were going to go for India you had to go all in and that I would be in a position to put pressure on you elsewhere. Those were always hard choices to make but I felt that I simply couldn’t afford to lose India without forcing you to commit.
I also understand the decision to concede here. I do have the advantage now (and I find these turns really challenging to figure out), but I thought it might still be a bit early. If you change your mind, I’m happy to continue.
@farmboy I’m glad to hear I made you sweat at times and that you played at your highest level. That’s something in itself for me being the less experienced player with most likely a lot less games under my belt. You definitely made the right choices and really played all nations as one. In the Pac of course but also with China and Soviet. Nicely done! Really stupid of me not thinking it through when going to Java. I should’ve at least decided beforehand that I would go for India no matter what but only calculated the odds without considering what your best counter would be. That made me have to buy 16 inf to avoid losing Tokyo and in the subsequent rounds you instead took the islands.
I’m happy with my choice and don’t see a way back here. Japan will only become weaker and weaker. With no targets in sight and you pushing me out of Burma + no money islands I’m doomed. Also in connection with a strong ME and Moscow. I wish I had this EU set-up but with a stronger Japan, then it would’ve been a close game.
@pejon_88 one thing I’m wondering about is your choice to go for J3. Given how disastrous J1 and C1 were for China, I thought you might take advantage of that and go for India earlier. I don’t know if it was a better move than what you ended up doing, but at the time I remember being worried about it.
@farmboy I think in hindsight I should’ve gone for a J2 I suppose. That’s one thing I need to improve, to adjust better. Not saying J3 was entirely wrong, but a J2 might’ve been better.
