Pacifier, I keep 1st and 2nd brackets totally separate. There will definitely not be any scenario for the 2nd bracket winner to play the first. If you win 3 games in the first bracket, nothing can take that away from you.
I’d have to re-read your suggestions a couple times to understand them, but first I’ll check with ABH and dawg to see if they’re willing to be a champion after playing one game.
-
Alright, apologies for writing style (I am no native speaker and my writing in German also often reads weird ;)
Additionally, I had wrong premise:
@pacifiersboard said in Post League Game Results Here:I don’t really know how the 2nd-bracket works - its winner gets a shot at winner of “1st-bracket”?
My suggestions had been based on that assumption. I hadn’t known this:

Shoot -
Hold up on the second bracket of BM playoffs - I sent a PM to @simon33 in case I missed his signup. He would be #1 of the 2nd bracket, I believe, so would shake the whole thing up. Sorry if you’ve already tried to start - let me know if you have started a game in 2nd bracket.

Anyhow, an alternative solution crossed my mind: Maybe some (i. e. two at least) players of 1st-bracket volunteer to play an additional match against a player of 2nd-bracket.
If these two games are won: everything fine.
If the volunteer looses in 1st and wins in 2nd bracket, both he and the 2nd-bracket player will drop out (ofc)
If the volunteer looses both matches, it will be a bit of bad luck for the 2nd-bracket-player, but both will drop out, too.
If the volunteer wins in 1st and looses in 2nd bracket, he may feel a bit unlucky, but will give his spot in 1st-bracket to the originally 2nd-bracket-player.I would volunteer in such way obviously.
OK, I understand it now. You volunteer to play ABH or Dawg, and maybe someone else volunteers to play the other of ABH or Dawg. These games can then be done concurrently. If ABH or Dawg wins against the volunteer, and the volunteer wins his first playoff game, then ABH or Dawg take his spot in the 2nd round of the main playoffs. Any other result, ABH or Dawg is out.
I messaged ABH and Dawg, if they are both happy with the current set up than that’s that. Thanks for thinking about how to maximize enjoyment for all who want in the playoffs.
-
I only really wanted to commit to the playoffs if I made the main bracket. I don’t want to commit to the second bracket and then not follow through.
-
Thanks for the quick answer -
Sorry, you just missed the top 8OK, all those in 2nd bracket you may carry on with the bracket as presented yesterday.
You want in PTV?
-
works for me. Guess we had better be playing people in the top-4 of the OOB tournament if we want a significant chance to have the game be of consequence. ready for a butt-whooping as my game is quite rusty.
-
Somebody besides Pacifier’s Board,
please volunteer to play ABH at the same time as your regular first round game. If you win the first round game but ABH beats you, you will be out and ABH gets your spot. -
@gamerman01 @pacifiersboard @dawgoneit @Arthur-Bomber-Harris
I’m not sure I 100% understand what is going on, but it’s all fine with me.If @pacifiersboard is playing @dawgoneit then I don’t mind playing @Arthur-Bomber-Harris for my place. If he wins then he takes my place in the 1st bracket against the winner of PacifiersBoard/Dawgoneit. I can play fast enough that I doubt it will slow down the playoffs overall.
If there is anyone who objects to this or thinks it is a pile of sh!t idea then I’m happy to do whatever the plan is currently.
JUST POINT ME AT THE ENEMY AND HEAR ME CRY “God for Harry, England, and Saint George!” AAARRRRR!!! :crossed_swords: :crown:

good stuff đź‘‘
Actually the idea was that the two of us play two games each at same time: the regular playoff and the “bonus match” against dawg (me) / ABH (you). If the winner of regular playoff is beaten in the bonus match ABH / dawg will take the spot.
-
Um, let me thicken the plot further.
TinCan has now messaged me saying he would be willing to take a spot in the OOB playoff if needed.
I could say no, too late, if some of you are bidding and starting your games. Then we would just carry on with badger playing ABH and Pacifier playing Dawg (while they’re each also playing their first rounds)
But then that leaves a 3rd player out of the 8-man bracket.
What do you OOB players think?
-
@gamerman01 We haven’t started yet.
-
TinCan says he can take it or leave it
-
Maybe there is a third volunteer? Slight difference is that TinCan would have had a seed in “1st-bracket” and that messes with who plays against whom?
-
That’s why I’m asking if anyone started. Would be nice to put in the #2, but if it’s too late, it’s too late and TinCan doesn’t mind
-
how fair is this for @Martin?
-
I would prefer playing Pacifier or another top-4 person for the play-in if that is possible.
-
I don’t know if it would be appropriate or not
But if you are looking for a competent fill-in “body”
I would do it. And play any version, at the mercy of the community request.
And I claim the right of first come first serve!
I get that I haven’t played in the league in a few years, but was always a capable and dangerous opponent!
Open to anything. Consider me a medium tier AI!

Sure. TinCan didn’t make the signup date.
If TinCan becomes the #2 (everyone would have to agree) then Martin won’t be the #8 against Myygames, he would potentially have a chance to play a “volunteer” who would probably not be as tough as Myygames, and would give him a chance of getting straight to the 2nd bracket. So actually, Martin might like it better. No changes will be made unless I hear from most of the OOB players saying they want TinCan in as #2

Yeah, can’t do it because everyone else had to have 3 games completed during the regular season. I’d let you in if I could. Have you even played “out of the box” in recent years? lol
