@surfer thanks for that clarification
Maginot Line
-
yea thats true FMG will put a rocket up the chimps and get them moving because they now have competition.
-
The only reaction that we will likely see out of those chimps is them trying to shut down FMG
-
They cant. Nobody can shut down another business for making WW2 pieces…unless they call it Axis and Allies and don’t pay a licensee fee to use the name. If they call it whatever else…they are totally free to do it.
-
TripleA didn’t use the words Axis and Allies.
-
Yeah but they were using the board and rules and all of that stuff that is under the copyright infringement rules. Making pieces that don’t look exactly like the sculpts from AA is not covered under the law. Think of universal remotes, they can run almost any TV but are not infringing because they are not made for a specific thing. Those sculpts by FMG can be used for any WWII game.
-
yes thats what they did. They referred to their “product” as an AA clone of sorts. All that language needs to go
-
Well I wish they would hurry up and do it. I miss Triple A. :-(
-
So, with the game coming out next week, and review copies in the hands of influential individuals, I must ask the question. What have they done concerning the Maginot Line & other fortifications like Eben Emael, & Gibraltar?
-
Nothing much really…
-
That’s too bad. Especially considering the fact the Germans were forced to either outflank or overrun these bastions in order to conquer Western Europe. It’s unfortunate that they don’t seem to care about the actual events that inspired the game.
