So the axis almost pulled it off. Lost Verviers last turn. Allies just stayed in the other 2 stacks. Could roll them out to see if they get control for the heck of it.
I just pick this up last week and after about 5 games I can say yes. I would warn them however that playing the Allies takes a lot of tactics and maneuvering!

There definitely is a learning curve for the allies.
I use them as mech infantry about 2-3 years before Mech infantry actually existed in AA. I didn’t like the table tactic pieces . they are horrible quality
Try to maintain a continuous line. If you create ‘hardspots’ where the Axis can get ZOC on the hexes your units need for retreating you’ll find your tactical retreat hasn’t preserved anything.
My local shop oredered one for me and it arrived Wed when I think Friday was offical release. You might give it some more time with your Toys 'r Us et al.
