I checked revised rules (a game I only know by name, as I only played G40 before)
it seem your are right… but damn… it made no sense to retreat just the plane when 2 units are left and only one enemy infantry…
stupid rule mixup :-(

Would be 1/3 chance that one land unit would make it to hold Assam for a turn…
Retreating a Fighter under these cirumstances after round 1 made really no sense
