No, I don’t know. Yes I have the exact same problem, looked into 2.6 and didn’t have any luck. No one from the community gave me an answer that worked. If someone gives you the fix, please let me know as one of my computers is disabled from playing by forum because of this.
I’ve tried my forum password, changed it a few times, nothing works. I have no idea what that forum password is, or if the problem is java. I’ve re-installed java, makes no difference for me.

You have to erase the password and click start otherwise you will have the error code.

Maybe I don’t understand what you mean
When I open a save game and play by forum the forum password is already blank and I can’t click play -
In the picture shown, there are 4 dots for password, you have to erase it every time, and then click play. when I load the game and ''play by forum" I always have to erase it. It does not come blank by default.

Shoot, mine’s different. When I load a game and go play by forum, the password is blank, so I have nothing to erase like you do. Thanks for the ideas, any others?

@sovietishcat @gamerman01 I have tried starting without the password, couldn’t hit the play button, it was unresponsive. Today I tried again, I think the key is to not leave the type mode, I also had 4 dots this time, while my password is longer. I hit backspace 4 times and tried to click play while in type mode since it was still clickable, fully expecting not to be able to enter since the password was incorrect. I actually managed to start the game. @Pejon_88 If I can make it happen again, i will play G1 later today.

Hey Guys, please note that we have a TripleA Support Category where all the problems you struggle with are covered.
In short: The current TripleA stable (2.5.22294) that some are still using is no longer compatible with the current forum software. The issue has been resolved with the current pre-release versions of TripleA.
So in order to continue PBF as you were used to it in the past everyone needs to update to the current pre-release. Alternatively you could use PBEM with the current ‘stable’. In that case you would be able to continue to use MARTI, but you need to post the turn summary manually. As well as the savegame-file.
The developers have announced a new stable “soon” - but that has been months ago… nothing in sight right now, unfortunately.
This is all independent from different whatever self-installed Java installations, as TripleA is bundled with its own Java. And Java is not the culprit, here.

In case you encounter an error like this please hit the “Report to TripleA” button at the bottom of the error message. You will see then, that the issue has been already reported, whether there might already be a solution or that it is totally new. In any case it is helpful to address the result in a topic you might create, then.
Please - if needed - open a topic in the TripleA Support Category . This will prevent us from repeating the same answers to the same issues in different game threads.

No need to apologize, it’s just that many players tend to ignore the support category, what leads to redundant and time consuming discussions.
So you can either update to the current pre-release - but every player needs to do it - for a working PBF-procedure, or
you can continue to use 2.5.22294 and have to live with the workarounds.There is never an announcement of a pre-release, as those are produced on an almost daily base.

(click on “assets” to find the version you need).Note that using a pre-release might cause other issues you might need support for. But some players already use those quite successfully.

Also - in case you update - make sure to start a totally new game. If you use older savegames with newer versions of the engine you will just carry over problems from the old to the new engine.
