Thanks Panther that is what I thought.
China and what should be done with it
-
my big question is: how many turns will the burma road survive?
i predict it will survive only 2 chinese turns (3 japanese turns), which means you may have to purchase all the artillery you want for the rest of the game during these turns…

It really really depends on the setup. Its 1940 so japan doesnt have that many territories under its thumb. I think that china can actually be its own player and that it can take longer for it to fall if british troops help china too.
-
If China is going to take that much of a beating, then they will only need infantry anyways.
-
You’ll have to help China, The same as in AA50. Spare a few Russian or UK tanks/ftrs so you get some higher def roles to go with those China men, Hold your ground, you have to work as a team. Make it so if they break your line that they don’t have much left, so they’re not much of a threat when they (Japan) get to Russia. If you lose the Chinese inf though run like hell.

My only experience with China is AAP which does not have Russia involved so what I found is 99% of the time people avoided China. I’m not sure how this game is set up but my guess is that most games will consist of people circumventing China and transporting troops straight to South Asia. Unless China is a vital part of victory for Japan I don’t see it being a huge part of the partial game. Now the global game, that is a whole other animal….
-
That’s also been my experience, avoid China go for India!

Unfortunatly you cant avoid china in this game. idk if I am right but if you hit the UK or ANZAC then america enters the war. you dont want a 50 IPC beast coming at you while you make only 25. along with the US allies trying to poke you as well. Crushing china earns you and extra 11 IPC, which youll need if you want to win in a non victory point AAP game.
-
You are correct Swiss. I see that now and I’m liking this game more and more……The pacific only game will have China probably being demolished but in the global I think it is a race against time for Japan, you need more than what China has to offer so you go after what you see as weak American and British forces in areas rich in resources…you need those to help the Germans with Russia, this will be a lovely game!!!
-
Hey Swiss heres a +1 for you . I agree Japan has much to gain in AA40P if it goes after China early (earns more $ and keeps US at bay) . There will be about $12 in China. Japan may even have an NO tied to china, as it was one of its expansion goals in the war.
-
China was more important in the earlier versions of A&A when it was a place for US to place pieces.
-
Does China follow other rules similar to AA50:
She doesn’t have factories right? She can just place anywhere as long as there are not more than 3 troops already in that territory, etc?
Her forces can not leave China’s borders, except perhaps to indo china and manchuria, etc?
-
China is very similar to the way it is in AA50, but there are some important differences. For instance, it collects and spends IPCs like any other power, though the units that it may purchase are limited to infantry and artillery, and they may be mobilized in any Chinese territory. Its range of motion has also been increased a little.
-
idk…This whole time japans trying to crush china…others are going to be trying to attack you! and you cant hit back otherwise america will get you! can japan possibly beat a 50 IPC giant? did it ever happen in playtesting?
-
Besides China you have the Dutch. The Dutch could still be a patsy that Japan takes out early to boost its ipc’s. Its possible that attacking the Dutch is not an attack on UK. In Krieg’s hint he said they won’t be considered neutral, but he didn’t say they would be Uk either. I think they will be controlled by UK, but it’s possible they are not UK units.

Thanks to God! :-) Can they rebuild the Flying Tigers? Will be they at least at a safe place at starting for once? :-P Can japanese tanks blitz merrily to China’s mountains?
Well, good news at last. I still don’t understand why they should have limited movement even in NCMs but I can live with it if at least they can attack axis held territory (no more in-game bugs, yai!) :-)

Can they rebuild the Flying Tigers?
No.
Will be they at least at a safe place at starting for once? :-P
Yes.
Can japanese tanks blitz merrily to China’s mountains?
There are no terrain rules.

Great questions and answers! +1 to everybody, let’s do the dance of joy Uncle Larry!

Well, it’s not the best scenario but at least is acceptable (specially number 2). +1 karma for quick reply
-
Will china get its own seperate turn? or will it take its turn with America like in AA50? for that matter any speculation on the turn order for the global game?
-
China gets its own turn. You can speculate all you like about turn order.
