Pacific 1940 - Limited Edition or not?
-
@cannon:
I thought it was $63 or $80 not $200.
@Imperious:
about $63 of preorder or $80 retail
It is $63 or $80. It would only be $200 if you waited until the only place you could still get it was on ebay. That is what people are paying for AA50 right now. Actually the last time I looked it was higher than that.
-
I just checked ebay and there is an AA50 that is up to $232.50 and there is still almost one full day until the auction closes.
-
Dont buy it! Just wait for the awesome game next summer!
-
The point I was trying to make is that this could happen to future games if you wait too long
-
like those unfortunate people that missed out on AA50…. They dont know what they are missing.
-
Question to all: How many games are you buying?
-
I will buy 3 P40s, 3 E40s and 2 AA50s when the reprint comes out.
I already have 2 AA50s and 3 AA42s.
I suggest that you buy at least 2 of every game since reprints take forever and you’ll need the extra pieces and such anyway.

That’s about $500 if you don’t preorder!

I have one of the original AA games, though it is “well played.” I also have one of the AAP and AAE games along with D-Day and BOtB. (I’m thinking about selling my D-Day and BOtB games though because I only play the ones with money involved.) It is a shame that I was not able to get AAR and AA50, those I was really looking forward to and just kept putting off the purchase until it was too late, ch well….
-
There’s always ebay.
-
Save up, Bite the bullet, then pay $200 for your copy of AA50. You’ll wonder why you didnt purchase it sooner when your try it for real. Plus your gaming group will thank you for introducing them to something with a little more depth and scope.
-
Just pre-ordered my two copies from CoolStuffInc (on IL’s earlier suggestion). Thanks for the heads up on that store IL, I usually use another site, but with the free shipping over $100, it just makes sense to get two on pre-order.
If only I had been so smart as to snatch up more than one copy of AA50. That game has a higher YoY return than my 401(k)!
-
My 401(k) has become a 201(k)
-
Ouch guys…You cant lose the financial game if you never play.
-
And you can’t win if you don’t play either.
-
Touché
-
Look, it doesn’t matter if it is a limited edition or not if you just pre-order the damn thing. Good night now.

Hey,
Final question regarding this. (and it may be my dumbest) Will the same Powers/Armies/Colored Units be in the box for Europe as well as Pacific? I’d assume so, but I don’t want to be wrong. I mean if we get all the units (land, sea, and air) for say France or any of the other non-basic 5 armies in both games this will definitely help me figure out if I need to pre-order just 1 copy of each game).
Thank you.

No, you won’t get the same pieces in both games. Why would you need German units in the Pacific game or Japanese ones in the Europe game? Powers that appear in both games, such as the US and UK, will be the same color in both games.
-
So you will end up with twice as many UK and US pieces? This is no good. Maybe in the Pacific version you can include twice as many Japanese pieces and in the Europe version you can include twice as many Russian, Italian, and German pieces so that you will have a balance of pieces when buying both games. Maybe WOTC will sell extra pieces like Milton Bradley used to.
