NML 1914 - Team Game #3
-
I’m up for another too!
-
Count me in also.
-
I will Pause.
-
Okay. I am in
-
I will play again , just to get revenge on my enemies .
-
I learned several strategic lessons from these 3 team games. 1) When PP said R should hold Belarus and trade Odessa back and forth, I was skeptical. But he proved it works. 2) Seems best strategy for Turkey is to open with sinking R fleet. Saves T fleet without spending on navy, allowing buy transports to amphib with bombard on R; more effective pressure on R than naval arms race with UK. Entente control of E. Med in early game little effect on T, which can cheaply build garrisons and trenches on coast. 3) If G kills Paris first doesn’t look to success early, G should switch to take Scand quickly rather than let R/UK take it unopposed for 14 income per turn.
-
@fmerwinrommel I’d say all 3 of those depend on the CP strategy.
-
Depends how much CP attack power is pointed towards Russia. If they don’t have much then you can hold both but otherwise just traded Odessa back and forth.
-
Depends what the Entente do in the Med. Turkey can almost always kill the Russian fleet whenever they want unless their whole fleet is wiped out in the Med. Not putting any pressure on the Entente fleets in the Med makes it much easier for them in the opening rounds.
-
If Germany is doing a balanced approach then yes taking Scand is pretty important. But if they are going hard either east or west then its often better to ignore it at least for a while.
-
-
@redrum 1) R concentrating in Belarus instead of both, gives it greater offense against G, so its not just defensive.
I don’t recall playing a NML game where G’s dominant strategy was going east. G taking Scand can pressure R with amphib and northern land front, but still can’t march up southern coast of Baltic if R is unbroken elsewhere. R collapsed in our earlier team game when it advanced into Turkey and T countered and broke R southern defense.

I hated conceding Scandinavia to my arch enemy (but, hardly, nemesis), but hsd no choice, as I went all out for Paris. I think I was undone by failing to sink the two Canadian TTs, however . They helped save Paris.

Can someone roll dice fir the 7 of us , please ?
I suppose it means Italy/Arabia is played by the US. We still want 3 CP players, I believe. -
