Pacific 1940 - Limited Edition or not?

    WTF

  • It’s Adlertag’s response to Andy Dandy.  I think it’s something about combined shipping?  To save money by combining pre-orders?

    @Andy_Dandy:

Guess i have to pre-order now at once from the USA. I don’t trust AH to send enough copies of it to Norway. ;) I have to be 100% certain to have both the Pacific and Europe version by the next summer.

No norwegian game sites have the Pacific game listed yet either, so I don’t take any chances. These games are worth extra custom fees and shipping costs indeed.

  • Okay, what a relief, I thought I was in the Norwegian Twilight Zone.

    You’re right.
“sammen” means together, and “dele” means to share. And ofcourse shipping == shipping and kost == cost. But that’s as far as my passive Nordic goes…

  • “sammen” means together, and “dele” means to share.

I thought sammen meant fish and dele was a place that you could buy a sandwich.

  • My feelings are that with AA42 being the flagship of the series and that Larry wants to do more revisions further on down the road as well as the price for them that all signs point to “yes”, these will be limited edition runs and those who want them should grab them.  If you can get $250 for AA50 on ebay now, imagine at least double that for the complete set of the 40’s you will get 18 months from now.  I mean, wow, AA50 will be sitting on shelves not even being looked at next to Guadalcanal and Dday, because those will be up for revisions too.

  • Limited editions will not cause any problems. FMG will make and sell any kind of plastic pieces, and IL will provide maps we can download, and of course the rules will be free to download too, so quit whining.

  • IL’s maps and FMG’s pieces really have to be the smart way to go, once those are combined, AH’s sales should drop dramatically…. but sshhhhh!.. :-D

  • "Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?

Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

    Words to live by.

  • i pre-ordered by usual 6 copies at coolstuffinc for $63 bucks each with free ship

i pre-ordered by usual 6 copies at coolstuffinc for $63 bucks each with free ship

i dont think we are going to find a much better deal than that

  • I will pre-order these at my local game store I know it is more expensive but I like having it around.

i’m same way, plus i like getting it the day it comes out.  i’m not good with waiting

  • If you dont support your local game store, they will soon become a thing of the past.

  • I usually do boardgames.com but I’ll wait and ask for the pacific one for Christmas I think. If it comes out before that then I will order it immediately, not making the same mistake as I did with AA50. I think as long as these are less than $75 a piece that is a fair price to pay.

  • Customizer

Ya, $80 is my upper limit for these sorts of things
I managed to get my AA50 off craigslist used but perfect condition for $65 :)

Who are you going to ask…… Santa Clause.  Can you ask him for an extra copy and give it to me. I am afraid to ask as I have been a naughty boy.

does anything make you happy?  i’m guessing you’ll find problems with anything, and probably blame it on Krieghund

dang, and here I thought that those little smile faces were quite obviously sarcasm…. so much for emotion-icons, eh!   apparently more of that mis-understanding what is implied.
And here I was trying to help.  And never blamed anything on Krieg.  even gave him props during…

don’t worry too much, I read that Dec. 21 or 22 was the expected release date.

  • I really think this is a limited edition… :-(

I am at 95% for this because of the price… no AA game cost this much on preorder except for AA50. NO other AA game costs more than 40 bucks and this retail is like $75.00 and for a WOTC product this is not in line with a large volume product rollout. This is a niche game. I would serious consider buying more than one of these on pre-order because when these go out and AAE40 comes out next year and people play the global game… it will be the best AA product and surpass AA50 in every category.  These games are too huge to be something that will be like AA42 which is for $27.00.

SO the bottom line is buy at least one of these and DON’T REGRET WHAT YOU DIDN’T DO WHEN AA50 CAME OUT… thinking you will wait till the price goes down… this will be a huge mistake and you will repeat the error just like you did when AA50 came out and i told you to buy multiple copies. At any rate buy 2 on pre-order which is about the cost of one when it comes out because the price will only go up.

And i wont be saying this except based on what i do know about how WOTC behaves and lots of experience with them.
