I lost to the #1 seed in the PtV playoffs. I was aggressive (as I didn’t see myself out playing them in a long game) and took chances but they didn’t work out. No regrets, and at least the end came quickly.
Still playing a G40 playoff game, although I think that’s started to favour the opponent now.
First year in the playoffs, I have enjoyed participating, it’s a nice element to the league and makes getting up the league a goal to get a good seeding.

@flyingbadger I know what you mean about having an agressive vs a passive/defensive strategy. I also like taking an agressive aproach. It’s a gamble, but against such a good player its better than sitting back and hoping he will screw up.
Anyway, in our game, I meant to leave 1 inf back in Smolensk. May I edit? -

Obviously the Italian armour wouldn’t be able to stroll into Smolensk, so that’ll need changing, I’d probably attack with 2 armour and the bomber, fortunately the bomber didn’t need to roll in the Syria attack as the bombardment took out the 1 infantry, so we could just leave everthing else as it is and roll for the Smolensk battle: 2 Armour, 1 Bomber vs 1 Infantry, 1 Fighter (assuming you scramble). What do you think?

ok, lets just play on from your last file. I screwed up and will just have to swallow hard. What sucks about losing Moscow is all the extra money Germany will get.

I will put 3 infantry in Smolensk and replay the Italian turn as I’ll need to do something very aggresive. I don’t want to exploit this, it would be a cheap move. I’ve been on the wrong end of situations like this and I wouldn’t want you to feel like that.

@max334 The attack paid off, although it was out of desperation rather than planning or tactical genius. Axis are still pretty much screwed unless MARTI takes some serious pity on them.

@flyingbadger You did have odds and I’m glad it went well for you. But I’m guessing you feel the game in general is not going well for you and I tend to agree, but I’m not sure why that is. How do you see it and WHY is it that way?
