due to amount of time invested per turn and the relative lack of progress on both sides for that time invested, farm boy and I discussed offline and we have agreed to a draw. great and fun game!!!

@axis-dominion @farmboy yeah definitely still a close game. hard to say how it would turn out and certainly was going to take a while to get there. Japan should take the 50/50 shot in 54!

lol I didn’t even look at the numbers… but 50/50 is too risky, a draw is much better than a loss :)

Its definitely tempting to see where the dice land on that. But I wasn’t worried about an attack there. I was more worried that in moving from Wake I gave him Hawaii. I’m thinking I probably should have done this earlier.

@farmboy yeah, not a good attack so in a real game never gonna happen, I would have just liked to see a 2800 ipc battle. odds calc with 2000 sims says 49% after scramble.

I must be missing something in my calc then. Yeah, it would be fun to see.

And sorry I did understand your point. I was adding some commentary reflecting on my own choices here. I held up at Wake for a while because it was a good position from which to deny him a final VC. And because I was hoping to win in Europe I was afraid to leave because I was worried that would give him an opening on Hawaii. But I think should have gone for this a few turns ago.
